This story takes place in the time of knights and kings and beautiful princesses, known as the Medieval Times. Now, this kingdom was not rich but very poor. That is because the king John Luther Bearington the third kept all the money for himself.
But this tale is about a man name Charles William Douglas, but he was known better as Chuck. Like the other people in Jothery he was poor. But unlike them, Chuck was in trouble with the law. When he was just 12 he had stolen more things than a horse could carry on his back. The one word for him was “thief”.
Now nobody knew of his crimes, there were no royal guards because the king was too cheap to pay for some. You may think where all the money went well that is an easy question. His parents were very ill and he was paying for their medicine for 5 years. He loved his parents and he knew it would break their hearts if they knew he was stealing.
One day he went to visit his parents and found them sicker than ever. His mother beckoned him closer. She whispered into his ear and said, “Chuck I have always loved you. And before I pass away I want you to give me something. Go to the farmer's house and buy three cups of milk, one for me one for your father and one for you.”
At first Chuck thought she was hallucinating. So he kissed her on the forehead and promised he would return tomorrow. So he when to the farmer but he was in a deep slumber. So Chuck helped himself, as usual, to a canister of milk. He went home to wait for tomorrow.
Chuck awoke, sat up, and found 4 guards, [not from his kingdom, they were too well dressed] one with a sword to his neck, in his room ordering him to come with him. They told him he will not be visiting his parents because he was going to jail and they were dead. The law had and always will win.
My name is Chris and I am the author of this book. I never expected to write a child's book. I thought my first book would be more for adults. But I have a feeling that this won't be my last book.b I am Chris Dzara and I wrote Three Cups of Milk. | Author
