FC: The | Sunshine Chapter | Cherished memories and treasured friends from Wenatchee, WA | 1998-2013
I'll never forget Gwendy teaching me to do fancy hairstyles...road trips to Portland...or calling me to help clean the house when she was pregnant and needed help. Gwendy and Chad, you and your family are loved and will be always missed. Love, Jayleen Hille
Oh Gwendy! Our Mondays and Wednesdays are never going to be the same again without you! And what other small child areMike and I going to flip when your children aren't here to be testers anymore. I learned so much from you when it came to swing and the vintage ways of dressing and I can't thank you enough. <- Look at those awesome pin curls :) Love ya! -Rae
Dear Gwendy, Even though I have only known you for a short while, we have had some of the most fun, exciting, memorable, and akward moments together that I will never forget. From aerials to the video of man's interpretation of dubstep to getting sat on, we have formed a friendship I will never forget!
Gwendy and family, This is the start of a long friendship~ in more ways than one! You'll always have a home here in Wenatchee! Enjoy your new life in Portland, and when you do think of us, step out a Savoy Charleston, fling a head or two into the ceiling fan, or pull down somebody's pants, kiss thye kids good night, and we're right there with you. Farewell, my Darlings.
I remember you from swing dancing years ago when I first started. You had no idea who I was, but I remember you. You were and are a fantastic dancer and I wanted to one day dance like you. I still dream of that. My life changed significantly almost 4 years ago when Dave connected us. I remember going to your house for the first time and eating soup he made for us. We then began to hang out and I started cleaning for you. We talked about anything and everything. There is no one else in my life I can do that with. I looked forward to the weekly cleanings as it meant I got to see and visit with you and the boys. You have taught me so many valuable things in our time spent together. You have been a Godly and beautiful example to me; as a mother, a wife, a friend, and a woman of God. | My Dear Gwendy, | Watching the Apple Blossom Parade
One of my favorite memories was doing the Follies with you. That was an experience that forever changed my life, and I am happy to have shared it with you. | Out of everyone in my life, you understand this dream of mine the best. It was especially great to sing with you in one number and practice my new harmonizing skills...or lack thereof. | You opened my ears to harmony | and taught me how to use my voice
Classy Chassis Fun! | You have encouraged me to learn as you do with your boys. You make learning easy, clear, and fun. Your boys are lucky to have you as a teacher.
Logan~ I am going to miss all of those annoying tidbits and questions all of the time...I really do love them. You are a very intelligent young man with a goofy sense of humor..that's what I'm going to miss the most. | Chad~ I am going to miss your sense of humor. You are one of the only people who can make me crack up for hours on end. | Kameron~ You are kind, friendly, and a joy to be around. You make me smile and laugh with the little things you do. I love your hugs and loves. I am going to miss you sweet boy!
You have given me endless support, encouragement, advice, and help in any way you could with my follies. That has made one of the biggest impacts in my life. I have very few who support me in this big adventure and dream of mine. You truly understand this is what I was created for and have shared your talents in order to help me succeed. On the days when I felt discouraged, you found a unique way to lift me up. When I jumped for joy, you jumped along. When I was confused, you made things clear. When I was scared, you held my hand. When I needed an ouchie-boo-boo pack, you gave me one ;) You bring out the beauty, confidence, and joy in me.
Our scrap booking parties were really fun. You taught me actual swing dancing technique and critiqued me, which gave me confidence to use it. You church shopped with me so I didn't have to go alone. I ate lunch after church with your family. I was included in family activities. You taught me to love little boys. You taught me how to coordinate cute outfits (which I still think "Is this Gwendy approved" when getting dressed up). | You have helped me in every aspect of my life. We have laughed endlessly together. You with your cute giggle. Me with my explosive laughter. You have been a mentor, sister, mother, Cheerleader, and best friend. I love you and miss you my Gwendy! ~Megan
It was a warm Wednesday evening in September, of 2004. I had just moved to Wenatchee for schooling, without knowing a single soul. I saw a flier on campus, and ended up at something called a swing dance club. I was horrible at the lesson, so I slunk over to a table and tried to hide. Then out of nowhere came a girl, dressed in vintage clothing with a huge smile on her face. She said, “Hi I’m Gwendy! Let’s dance!” I tried to talk my way out of it, but there was no way she would have it. We danced, and hundreds of dances later, we still dance. We danced at the senior center. We danced in parades. We danced on stage. We danced in her living room. We danced in halls. We danced in Jack and Jills. We even danced as rednecks to cotton eye joe! (Which I still can’t believe you agreed to!) But we also did much more than dance. We talked. We talked so much. About Jesus, dancing, music, life, ups and downs, and everything in between. You were always there when I needed a good positive listener!
Gwendy, it is thanks in large part to you that God came back into my life! And you were one of the few people I could be perfectly honest with about some personal problems (you know what I’m talking about ) I really am a stronger and better guy for knowing you and having you in my life! And also, our time spent together working on music with Jay, was an amazing experience and I’m so glad we got to have it! God puts people in the right places at the right times, and you were no exception! Anna and I so appreciate your friendship. And we appreciate all the advice and the wonderful books you gave us to help us prepare for our marriage. And we so look forward to seeing you at the wedding and sharing that experience with you. We wish you so much happiness and luck on your new adventure. God Bless! And lots of love! Anna and Brady
From the first time I came to your apartment over on Fifth Street, I have known that you are the type of woman that I want to model myself after. Spending time with you has inspired me to be the best version of myself. I love that our children are the same ages and that they have become friends. I will always remember you as my friend, my role model, my confidant, my teacher, and my cheerleader. I could not have asked for a better person to come into my life and help me grow into who I am! I cannot wait to visit in Eugene and to make many more memories, but for now, we will always have swing, and home school, and the Salmon Festival, and late night phone calls, and LOTR, and coffee, and clothes, and cleaning! --Karen

Logan, Kameron, and I have gotten to spend a lot of quality time together and I love them like my own little brothers. I looked forward to spending time with them and I have enjoyed watching them grow, I don't think reality hit me until just now how hard it is going to be to miss out on their little lives grow. Thank you for letting me spend the last year getting to know them and enjoying their laughs and sweet personalities. Chad, we didn't get to spend too much time getting to know each other, but I know you are pretty freaking awesome because you have the most amazing family I have ever met. I am glad Gwendy has such an incredible husband and I am glad you got a job in California so she had to find me to sit for her on Wednesdays. God has His plans and they are always good! Gwendy, You have become the dearest person in my life. No matter what I am going through, you listened to me and helped me through it. Good and Bad, You are the most phenomenal woman on this earth. I know distance won't stop our friendship, but I am really going to miss the late nights and knowing you are always there. You taught me that this life is very temporary, and while that may be true with our addresses, it is not the case with our friendship and love. I will thank God everyday for you-- near or far. I love you. I love your family, and I know that you will be blessed in this move. Expect a visit from me every now and then! :)
