FC: A baby is something you carry inside | you for nine months, in your arms | for three years and in your heart till | the day you die." ~ Mary Mason | Lucy Rae Corbett
1: About Our Family | Mommy and Daddy were High School Sweethearts. When we met, mommy was 15 and daddy was 17. Within months of knowing each other, we knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We got married on September 24, 2005 at the ages of 24 and 25. In March of 2006, Chesney, our beloved puppy became a member of our family. She will be so excited to meet you. We prayed for you to come into our lives for three years. And on June 15th of 2010 our prayers were answered! We found out we were going to have YOU!
2: How We Found Out | We were eagerly awaiting a call from the doctor's office, but of coarse mommy missed the call and they left a voicemail. Mommy listened to the good news and was so excited she could barely contain herself. And as she was listening, daddy was calling on the other line but mommy knew she didn't want to tell him over the phone. So while she was on the phone with daddy trying not to spill the beans she raced up to daddy's work while he was on break. And while still on the phone with him, she walked up to him with a huge smile on her face. Daddy was a little confused, but he could see it in mommy's smile that she had the news he was hoping for. Mommy told daddy on a bench outside Wholefoods and he had tears in his eyes. We had just received the best news of our lives: WE WERE GOING TO BE YOUR MOMMY AND DADDY!
3: How We Told Our Family & Friends | We couldn't wait to tell the people we loved about you. So we called them all on the phone that afternoon. We called your Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Dan, Grandma Patty and Grandpa Al, Aunt Mallory and Uncle Josh, Uncle Brian and Aunt Mendy, Uncle Sean and Aunt Jen, and Our Best Friends Aunt Kim and Uncle Trent. They were all very excited to hear the great news! That night we went out to eat with Aunt Karen and Uncle Dave and told them the BIG NEWS! | We Are Having A Baby!
4: These were very early ultrasounds, when you were just starting to grow. At five weeks we could just see the dark spot that was the sac that you were going to grow in. At seven weeks, you were just a little line in the sac, but daddy could already see your heartbeat flashing really fast. At eight weeks, mommy was amazed that you had gone from such a tiny little line to something she could see really good. | First Ultrasounds | The Exciting First Glimpses of You! | 6/25/2010 5 weeks | 7/13/2010 8 weeks | 7/06/2010 7 weeks

18: Progress | shower | To: Baby Corbett | Gifts, Gifts, and more Gifts We were very grateful to our wonderful family for giving us such a beautiful baby shower. And very thankful to everyone who showered us with gifts. We got everything we needed for your arrival. The shower was a Yellow Ducky theme. There were around 80 people there, it was huge. Grandma Sharon and Grandma Patty rented the hall and bought the food. Aunt Kim ordered the invitations. Aunt Mendy made the ducky cookies and all your aunts helped decorate them, Aunt Mallory helped with the decorations. Aunt Jen along with your other aunts got the baby bingo prizes. Your Great Aunt Barb made a cake and Nana Eaves helped with the cupcakes. | We Have Been Blessed With Such Generous Family & Friends!
20: My dear friends Sara and Lisa were so kind to throw me a small baby shower for my friends up north. Sara was generous enough to host it at her home in Oswego. And Lisa was very sweet to organize the games and prizes. There was only 8 of us there but it was perfect. | #2 | shower

22: Your Nursery | Dresser By Daddy | We picked bright colors for your room so that it was unique and cheerful. They were colors that would work if you were a girl or a boy since we didn't know what you were going to be. The colors were inspired by the Piggy Bank we bought you when we were trying to get pregnant. We got it in Cozumel 2 1/2 years before you were born. Thankfully you have talented Grandma's because Great Grandma Eaves and Grandma Sharon made the curtains and the bedding. Mommy was a bargain shopper and found your dresser that was regularly $800 at the Land of Nod outlet for $50. It was at the outlet because the top was damaged, so your handy daddy cut a new top for it and painted it turquoise to match your room. We worked so hard on your room. It was perfect.

27: 5 Days Before Your Birth | Snowed Under On February 2, 2011, Chicago suffered the third worst snowstorm in the city's history-and this in a city known for it's dramatic weather. Over the coarse of 35 hours, over 20 inches of snow fell on Chicago, stranding hundreds of drivers for over 12 hours overnight on the city's Lake Shore Drive. 28: Feb 7, 2011 | 8:45 p.m. | 20 inches | 7lbs. 7oz. | Lucy Rae Corbett | You were born at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. Daddy drove mommy there from our house in Aurora and we got to the hospital at 8:00am. It was a Monday morning and there was so much snow left on the ground from the blizzard we had just had. At the hospital you took your time coming out but that was alright. Once it was time for you to come out, your delivery was a very peaceful, intimate experience. The lights were dim and it was just Mommy, Daddy, Dr. Frangella, and the nurse. Daddy was a big help with your delivery, he was like a second nurse and a great coach for Mommy. When you were born you didn't cry that much but Daddy and Mommy did. Mommy wanted to hold you as soon as you came out. So they put you on Mommy's chest for a few minutes before they even cleaned you off or weighed you. Then after they cleaned you off and checked on you, Mommy and Daddy spent an hour just holding you and looking at you. We were so enamored by you. We called you 'Baby Girl' for an hour before we decided on your name. We couldn't believe you were a girl. Our Beautiful Baby Girl.

36: Progress | You Made Our Dreams Come True | Dear Baby, This song meant a lot to us when you came into our lives and I hope you will live by it. | I hope you never lose your sense of wonder You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger May you never take one single breath for granted God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance I hope you dance I hope you dance I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance Never settle for the path of least resistance Living might mean taking chances but they're worth taking Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth making Don't let some hell-bent heart leave you bitter When you come close to selling out reconsider Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance And when you get the choice to sit it our or dance Dance I hope you dance | Love, Mommy & Daddy
37: We Will Love You Forever | Dear Lucy, You are in our lives now and we are truly blessed . You have made my life complete. Words cannot express the amount of Love I have for you. I get butterflies in my stomach when I look at you and realize you are mine. Every day I wake up and I see your perfect face, I Thank God for giving you to me. And every night before I go to bed, I ask him to protect you because I never want a life without you in it. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I look forward to our years ahead. You will be my best friend. I know their will be times when we won't think so, but we will get through them and be closer because of them. Daddy and I had to be patient for God to bring you into our lives but you were worth the wait. Love, Your Mommy
