26: You have now been in this world for half a year ~ happy 6 months of life little guy! You have had a very busy month little man so let's get started with all your new experiences. You have the cutest little facial expressions. You speak volumes with those big, beautiful eyes. When you want something you are able to fix a very intense focus or gaze on people, almost as if they are the guilty party in something, and you won't withdraw this gaze until you get what you want. Typically your Popo loves to see you do this to him so when you see him he will greet you and then go sit down. You focus those eyes on him like your reprogramming his mind so he will come and play with you. It works every time. Exposure to Chuck E Cheese was inevitable (heavy sigh). I, however, thought it would be postponed a few years, but you lucked out and got to celebrate your cousin Caleb's fourth birthday there this month. You weren't afraid of the mechanical or dress up Chuck E Cheese mouse either. You just kind of checked him out a bit and went on your merry way. You mostly enjoyed all the games that had lights which held your attention for a very long time. You were passed out from all the excitement when we left. This month also kicked off the Your Baby Can Read videos. You seem to enjoy it, but your favorite part of the entire video is the Itsy Bitsy Spider song. You absolutely love that song and every time it ends you start to cry. After the video is over me or Nana usually have to sing and act out the song for you another 20 times, but we aren't complaining as long as it brings a smile to your face. After you finish your video, you watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. You are already a Disney fan! It is amazing to me how that show holds your attention. I can't wait to take you to Disneyworld in a few years. You celebrated your first Easter this month. You were slightly interested in the colorful eggs, but what really got your attention was all four of your cousins running around the yard screaming and yelling. You kept twisting and turning your head in the direction of the screams wondering what the heck was going on. Mommy opened your eggs and you got some candy and a dollar! You also got a big kick out of Chulo, your Auntie's little dog. You kept squealing with delight when he would run up to you. This month you started expressing your dislike for things by pitching little fits. You straighten your legs and arms out and let out this little scream. You've only done it a few times. Mommy thinks it is funny for now, but I'm sure soon I won't have that same sentiment. | Zach, | 6 month letter
27: You're also discovering more variations to your voice. You enjoy the bubble blowing and high pitch screams. You aren't mad when you scream, but just enjoy being able to hear yourself. Some days you make me nervous that you are going to go hoarse. My favorite new thing you do is you can now grab my neck for a hug or my face and give me a kiss. Well okay, I call it a kiss, but it is more like an open mouth sucking attack. I still love it. Texas bluebonnets arrived this month and you loved investigating them. Your Aunt Katsi took some wonderful pictures of both of us in the gorgeous bluebonnets. Plus we all celebrated Nana and Popo's 40th wedding anniversary this month. Your Popo said by far this is the most memorable anniversary because you completely lost it during the meal. You've never done that before. Mommy had to leave the restaurant and it took 20 minutes to calm you down. Pobresito - not sure what triggered you, but Popo will remember this anniversary for a very long time. Now for your monthly stats! You weigh a whopping 17 pounds 15.5 ounces, heavy boy! You are 26.75 inches long and your head is 17.5 inches around. You are at 55% for your weight, 60% for your length, and 70% for your head circumference. That means that you are no longer on the small side for being a preemie, you have now passed up the average baby your age & you have a BIG head! ha ha ha - that big head must be your daddy's genes! : ) Okay baby boy full steam ahead to month seven! I love you ~ Mommy
