1: What development we’ve seen from Isabella in her second year. She went from walking to running laps around the park. She’s so active now, we can’t keep up! At 18 months, she already had over 50 words in her vocabulary, could count form 1-3 and did some words in sign-language pretty consistently (milk, more and please). She was very courteous with her please and thank-you’s. Isabella was a very good eater too. She put down 2 eggs, banana, and juice for breakfast. That was right after she chugged 9 oz of milk before we could even change her diaper in the morning. We still got 2 naps out of her, morning and afternoon. Momma tried potty training her ever since she was 9 months old to try to get her to learn early, but we had no such luck. I would put her on the potty for a few minutes before her bath time as part of her routine, but nothing ever happened. She liked to brush her teeth before bedtime so that was good we didn’t have to battle with that. She still slept through the night without a fuss. Then came the 2 year mark and boy did she grow more and more independent. She has quite the personality and lots of energy! She now insists on doing everything herself from getting dressed, picking out her own clothes, eating, turning the pages of the book while we read to her, brushing her teeth, climbing into the car and everything else! We’re still working on the potty-training and making some progress. She gets rewarded with M&Ms if she goes potty or if she sleeps in her bed through the night. Did I mention, she LOVES chocolate! I can get her to do almost anything with chocolate. Although because of her stubbornness, she says no to chocolate if she really doesn’t want to do what we say. She’s still loveable as ever and likes to play with her dolls in a very nurturing way. It is cute to see her take care of her dolls the way we care for her, whether it’s cuddling and singing to them or putting them in time-out. Her vocabulary has improved so much and I don’t have to translate what she is saying as much. She can now count to 20 in English and 10 in Spanish. She also knows her body parts in Spanish. She’s advancing so well and we’re so proud of our precious Isabella. We still get complimented on how beautiful she is from everyone we know and don’t know.
