1: Once upon a time, there was a sweet but feisty little boy named Luke who just turned 1 year old and was ready to take on the world with new & exciting adventures...
2: It's Birthday time...
3: Your first experience with balloons. | You were apprehensive yet so intrigued with these magical floating objects before you.
5: All of your San Diego family (including mutts) would not miss this great celebration in your honor. | Even your great grandma Ruth didn't want to miss it!
6: We sang the happy birthday song. You had mixed emotions with all that extra attention.
7: We let you have the entire cake. But you were more interested in the Hot Wheels toy than eating cake (initially). | Once you had your first taste, it was all over after that!
8: We let you go to town feeding yourself yummy birthday cake and playing in the frosting.
10: It was exciting chaos during present time... just your style.
11: The next day was filled with more birthday celebration with family. (Great Aunt Nancy, Great Uncle Cal & Great Aunt Marie)
12: A sweet and active one year old you had become. You stole our hearts daily with that signature Lukie smile.

25: We did frequent walks to the Camino Ruiz Park so you could play and mom could get some exercise.

30: Family Vacation to Cancun, Mexico February 2009 | 15 months
31: Sunny skies, warm Caribbean water & soft sand... we didn't want to leave!
33: Relaxin' is something you did quite well with dad.
34: During the days, we spent our time loungin at the beach or by the pool.
35: In the evenings, we went out on the town.
36: We had the opportunity to go to X-caret which was a majestic archaeological park filled with exotic animals and activities for the family.
37: After seeing some animals and getting food in our bellies, it was time for our siesta.

44: You spent all afternoon with family finding eggs and eating the goodies inside!
45: Next, came hiding the eggs from us... down your shirt!! It was so cute to watch.

54: California Coast Road Trip June 2009
55: We stopped in San Luis Obispo to feed the ducks at a local lake. | Then you watched dad fly his trick kite.
56: Next on our trip, we stayed in Monterey and went to the unbelievable Monterey Bay Aquarium.
57: You saw so many new sea creatures for the first time. It was pure stimulation overload.
58: After the aquarium, we burned some energy by stopping at a cool park themed after Dennis the Menace.
59: Next point of interest on our trip... San Francisco!
60: From Pier 39, we could see the Golden Gate Bridge, historic Alcatraz & lots of loud, crazy sea lions.
62: Later that afternoon, we went to the Berkley marina...
63: ...to meet mom's dear friend Lindsay Orbeta.
64: Our last stop was mom's hometown Modesto, CA. We went to Libby's 1 year birthday party, daughter of mom's high school friend Renee.
65: You played hard, ate cake and got to hit a piñata for the first time. Dad got the opportunity to visit with his buddy Kevin.

67: First video game - Soccer on Wii Fit You were intense! (20 months)
68: 3 year old birthday bash for Julian who is the son of mom's other high school friend, Kendra. August 2009 (21 months)
70: September Birthday Celebrations | We went to Grandpa's favorite restaurant, the Corvette Diner, for his special day. It was fun and loud! (9-01-09)
71: Game was on after dinner! | Uncle Justin was a big help making sure you knew how the games got played and had fun with it.
72: For Uncle Justin's birthday celebration, we ate dinner at Karl Strauss and opened gifts at our home. (9-03-09)
73: Grandma gave you a special gift. It was a photo book describing your characteristics and your favorite things over the past year. | September 2009 (22 months)
74: In early October, we went to Las Vegas for dad's hockey tournament. We stayed with mom's friend Rochelle and learned how to play Rock Band during our evenings at her house.
76: Rochelle took us to Bonnie Springs Ranch in Old Nevada. The little town felt like the Old West and even had a dramatic cowboy shootout performance!
77: There was a great petting zoo which had a variety of animals you could see up close and some you could touch.

79: It was a very delicious and special evening with family.
80: Briana & Mike's Wedding --- 10-17-09
81: You had the honor of being their ring bearer. You did a fantastic job and your dad and I couldn't have been more proud.
84: This was our amateur photo shoot done at the local pumpkin patch in Mira Mesa. Not bad, huh?
85: We didn't take home any pumpkins that day. We actually bought them much cheaper at the grocery store, but you were happy to 'go with it' and do any pictures we asked of you. | 10-22-09
86: Here are the pumpkins we did pick up and they were perfect for our pumpkin carving craft.
88: Yep! That's how you rolled.
90: On Halloween day, Josh was in town. Before the nightly festivities, we went to La Jolla Cove to check out the amazing tide pools.
92: Halloween night finally arrived. For the 2nd year in a row, you wore 2 costumes! Grandma Shari got you the elephant trainer costume at the SD Zoo and mom and dad got you the dragon costume. It was much warmer for the cooler evening.
