S: First Pregnancy 2011-2012
Our journey through the pregnancy of little baby Bailey Faustina Marie. Our beautiful, sweet perfect little girl. We will always cherish our first 9 months together. Lovingly, Mommy & Daddy
It was a rainy day in October when I realized I might be pregnant. I ran to the store to get a test and told Scott that its possible that I am pregnant. One morning I woke up before Scott and took the test, I waited to find out and then when I realized that Scott was awake I showed him the test. We called our family doctor and scheduled a appointment just in case and had them take a test. It was positive with them so we knew for sure that I was pregnant. We immediately told my family and wanted to wait to tell the rest of the family.
Watching you grow for 9 months... We thought it would be fun to take a photo each month to document the growth of the baby. It was so fun to see how much my belly grew month to month. It's such a miracle to see the changes that our bodies go through while a little life is growing inside.
Oh the joy of being pregnant and the funny things I crave... First pickles which I don't usually love, then came the midnight mac and cheese and ice cream cravings. Scott has been such a sport running out to get me whatever I need. This has got to be the best part of being pregnant; I get to eat so much Food! Food! Food!
February 23, 2012 is a day I will never forget. We had our first appointment to see an ultrasound. Scott met me at the hospital; he wouldn't miss this for the world. The night before, we decided we wanted to be surprised so we told the nurse not to tell us the sex of the baby. Once we saw her on the screen we just had to know. We were so excited to find out that we were having a baby girl! On the car ride home we immediately started to discuss names. We couldn't stop smiling the whole way home...it was a good day.
We were so excited to tell everyone we were having a Girl!
We decided to keep it a secret until we could gather all of our family and friends in one place. For Thanksgiving a month later after finding out that I was pregnant. We had a family get together for the Broderick family, we announced it right before dinner so everyone was excited.
After MANY nights of flipping through pages and pages of baby names, talking about the many options, and praying about a name for our little baby...My mind was done searching and stressing. We finally narrowed it down to Faustina Marie. I had said from the beginning that I love two names. Her name will be Bailey Faustina Marie! Bailey: Old English, meaning berry clearing, Faustina: Great Grandma's name that we want to keep a memory in every generation since she past before meeting any grandchild. Marie: Is mom's middle name also.
The first time I felt you kick was both amazing and weird at the same time. I realized that I actually have a real human being growing inside of me. You had grown so much that your little legs and feet were strong enough to kick! WOW! I will never forget that first kick for the rest of my life. We also felt the first time you hiccuped at 3 months into the pregnancy. It happened at Walmart that we felt it. It surprised both mom and dad.
