FC: 3 Branches of Government
1: The fathers created 3 branches because they thought if the government had too much power that they would become greedy for power like the king, so they separated powers to keep everything equal so the powers wouldn't get out of hand. | Founding Fathers
2: Capitol of Legislative branch | U.S House of Representatives
3: Legislative | ~U.S House of Representatives- Depends on the population for the number of representatives ~Create and make laws ~There are 435 members in the house of representatives. ~House of Representatives is also known as the "Lower house"
4: Legislative ~Senate- Each state has 2 ~100 members ~Known as "upper house" ~Leader- Vice President (tie-breaker) and President Pro Temper ~Nickname "Millionaires Club" 6 year terms
6: Judicial ~Responsible for interpreting laws that regards to constitution. ~Supreme Court is the finial court of appeals. ~1 Chief of justice and 8 Associate Justices. ~Hear about 150 cases per year.
9: Judicial ~Bottom-District Court. ~Appealed- Court of appeals. ~Top- Supreme Court ~9 members of supreme court ~Elected by the President ~Serve for life
10: Executive ~President, Vice president and Cabinet ~Electoral college picks the resident ~Serves 2 terms ~Carries out laws
12: To me, The legislative branch was created to make laws or decisions for the united states to become a better nation. | Even though, there are many court houses and judges they all report back to one court and eight judges,which is called the judicial branch. To me, the founding fathers created this branch for them to interpret the laws.
13: He might be the leader of the united states, but is he the leader of the branches? | The executive branch is very important. To me, the executive branch was created to carry out the laws that the legislative branch makes and the judicial branch interprets.
