1: Any spot on Earth that has physical of human meaning is a place. A formal region, or uniform region, is an area defined by a common characteristic | A region, larger than a place, is a group of places that are united by shared characteristics. -A functional region is a central place and the outlaying areas linked to it by transit systems. | Element #1: Places and Regions
2: This map shows the different regions of the United States.
3: Element #2: Physical Systems are volcanoes, floods, and hurricanes anything that shapes the Earth's surface.
4: Element #3: The World in Spatial Terms: Spatial relations means "Relations in space": how places, people, and features of the Earth are connected because of their location.
5: This has to do with the way people settle on the Earth and how that affects it. How it affects the physical geography, and how the people affect each other. | This also affects how people ship goods from one country to the other. One other thing that is affects is the ideas that are successful and the ones that aren't. | Element # 4: Human Systems
6: People affect the environment by clearing or planting forests, building industries and cities, and hunting animals. | Physical features of the Earth can affect where people can move to, and where they can live. | Element # 5: Environment and Society
7: Element #6: Uses of Geography | -Geographers provide important information about the planet's physical features and processes, living things, and human systems. Such as information describes the planet and contributes to planning for future needs.
8: The Branches of Geography 1.Physical Geography: The physical features of Earth. 2.Human Geography: How human adapt and change to meet their needs and how humans used their resources to get what they need.
