1: - Plot Summary- | This book starts out with three different tales. The tale of the Monkey King, then the Chinese American boy named Jin Wang, then the story about an American boy named Danny. The Monkey King was born out of a rock. He over threw the tiger that haunted the Flower Fruit Mountains. He then established and ruled his Kingdom. He then has a son named Wei-Chen. When Wei-Chen arrived to America he didn't have any friends. All he had was a toy robot that turned into a Monkey. He later becomes friends with Jin. Jin is an American Born Chinese boy, who's family came to America to find better jobs. His dad sold wigs, and his mom worked in a factory to get money. Jin's main goal in the book is to get with a girl named Amelia Harris. Jin changes his personality, looks and even his race to impress her. He doesn't have a lot of courage to persuae her due to the fact that he is Asian. He then transforms from Jin to "Danny". Then Danny comes along, an all American boy who is trying to become more popular in High School, but encounters one main problem, his cousin "ChinKee", a stereotypical Asian. ChinKee is in love with the dream of living in America. He makes Danny's life impossible. He tries to take Amelia from him while they were on a date asking her to "Bind feet, and bear ChinKee's children" I enjoyed this book because it was a graphic novel, not a lot of reading , but still pretty interesting. I recommend this book to everyone who is into comics and illustration.
