Development | The Ziggurat is in the middle of everything. The river was nearby. The market was with the houses. The 2-3 story houses are more in the middle. The 1-2 story houses are farther out. The houses are built around a central courtyard. They have bedrooms, a kitchen and roof to live in.
Classes of people | The Priests were powerful. They made sure everyone behaved the way they should. If you were sick you called a priest. The Upper Class wore jewelry, especially rings. Women wore dresses off one shoulder. They had long hair. They braided or wore up in special arrangements. Men wore skirts and also had long hair. They also had curly mustaches and long beards. The Lower Class got paid to work. If you worked in the fields or ran a shop you got paid. Everybody got paid, even the king. They wore jewelry even though it wasn’t made out of gold. They tried to follow fashions of the time as much as they could. The Slaves were prisoners from another town. They were to act like slaves. They worked for the king, the wealthy and the temple. Slaves were sold and bought.
Daily Life | Life was hard in Ancient Mesopotamia. People got into fights about water. They made many things of their supples. They made irrigation channels to their fields to help make the plants grow. But there is a problem with that, the water had minerals in it. If you tried to flush it out the soil would go with it, that is called erosion. If you let it evaporate the minerals would just sit there. Eventually you can't farm any more. They had to eat to live so some of there resources are grapes, wild apples, wild figs and barley.
Government | Their government types are monarchy, oligarchy and polytheism. Monarchy means the crown gets past down to the first born son. Oligarchy means you get taken over by another city-state. Polytheism means you believe in many gods.
Hammurabi's Code | Hammurabi is a famous Babylonian king. He made the first set of written laws. Some of the laws are if he has no money to repay, then he shall pay in corn or sesame in place of the money as rent for what he received from the merchant, according to the royal tariff. Law number 4 is if he satisfies the elders to impose a fine of grain or money, he shall receive the fine that the action produces.
End of Civilization | The end of the civilization had happened because the crops where full of minerals. The minerals poisoned the crops so they couldn't grow. If you tried to wash them out you just washed away the dirt. If you let it evaporate then they just stay there. War was another thing that caused the civilization to end.
