My name is Arthur Radley but everyone in Maycomb County just calls me Boo. I never leave my house during the day but sometimes at night I go outside and walk around town. My brother, Nathan Radley takes care of me. | About Me
This is my brother Nathan Radley. After my father passed away, Nathan moved in to take care of me. My brother isn't always nice to everyone in town, but if they knew him like I do they would like him too. Nathan is very kind and I appreciate that he moved here to take care of me.
On Halloween night, I witnessed Jem and Scout being attacked by Mr. Bob Ewell, who had been holding a grudge against Atticus Finch for a while after the court case. I was there to help the children, and I became responsible for them as I carried them into the Finch house. It was a brave thing I did, coming out of my house to help them, and it was important to keep them safe and away from danger.
Sometimes at night, after my brother Nathan is asleep, i sneak out and put little things I find in the tree in my front yard. Scout and Jem Finch take the stuff i put in the tree, I don't think they know it's from me but i don't mind. I like putting little treasure's i find in the tree like this pocket watch, a pack of gum and soap figurines because I know Jem and Scout look forward to finding them in there. | A pocket watch I found that used to be my fathers'.
Overall, although mysterious and a bit shy, I believe that I am a good person who has done nothing to harm others, and who may have even done a little to help. Scout and the other characters apparently came to realize my innocence, because scout let me stand over her wounded brother in her house when she says, "You can pet him, Mr. Arthur, he's asleep" (Lee 278). Her overcoming of the childhood aura of abnormality which had always followed me was evident, and for once I felt a belonging in the lives of my neighbors.
