S: Book report (by JOSH MONK)
BC: About the Author The dude that wrote my book is named Tom Sniegoski. He started his carreer in the comic book field, and made his way up from there. I'm sure he lives somewhere...because he isn't a hobo...and he probably has kids and a wife. And that's all i can write about him.
FC: Book Report by Josh Monk
1: Sleeper Code by Tom Sniegoski (realistic fiction)
2: Setting(s) Ecuador, 2002; Hawthorne, MA, 2005
3: Summary In the beginning of the book, a guy known as "The Sleeper" is taking a "test" given to him by his superiors. It isn't a written test like you take in school, though, it's a survival test. His superiors hired a professional killer called "Death's Messenger" to kill The Sleeper. If The Messenger killed The Sleeper, The Sleeper failed the test, but if The Sleeper killed The Messenger, he passed. In the end, The Sleeper succeeded in surviving The Messenger, therefore passing his test. In the next chapter, a teenager named Tom Lovett, who has Quinton's Narcolepsy, quit taking his medications to prove he was "getting better". When he told his mom, she freaked out and immediately took him to the doctor (since they were already in the car). The doctor examined Tom and found that he was okay, but he still gave Tom's mom more pills for Tom and a stronger anti-depressant. While he was giving her the pills, and talking to her, Tom had another attack from his Narcolepsy, and was forcefully taken over by sleep and complete and total darkness. after that you swap characters to a girl who's parents are going through a divorce, and who is, in the mean time, staying with her aunt and uncle. Throughout the whole novel, you interchange between characters and their various goings-on, which can get very confusing.
4: Theme You change between characters in this novel, so there is no Central Idea, Mural, or Author's Point.
5: Characters: The Sleeper: A trained killer. Goes through tests from his Superiors. Fighting has become his second nature. | Characters: Tom: A teen with Quinton's Narcolepsy. Quit taking his meds. Had an attack after that. | Characters: Madison: A teen with "no life". Depressed about her parents splitting. Trying to "get her life back".
6: Conflicts: The Sleeper: (External) Fights with Death's Messenger...for his life. | Conflicts Tom Lovett: (Internal/External) His Narcolepsy affects him internally and externally. | Conflicts Madison (Internal/External) Her parents splitting affects her internally and externally.
7: Resolution: Now here's where I'm in trouble because i didn't feel like reading the book. I hate reading. I do know that The Sleeper resolves his conflict by killing Death's Messenger. Madison works on getting her life back. I have no idea about Tom.
8: I don't remember what went on this page...my report was on the computers in the computer lab.
