2: “He wrote them on it so that he’d have something to read when he was in the field and nobody was up at bat” (Salinger 38). | "Allie had this left handed fielder's mitt" (Salinger 38).

3: To holden Jane is absolutely perfect and she can do no wrong | Holden recalls playing checkers with Jane on summer nights at the cabin.

4: "Where did the ducks go...I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if the just flew away" (Salinger 13).

6: "Then I took my hunting hat out of my coat pocket..." (Salinger 180). | "I put it on, and turned the peak around to the back, the way i liked it, and then i went over and took a look at my stupid face in the mirror" (Salinger 45).

8: "I'm too big for the carrousel..No, you're not. Go on. I'll wait for ya. Go on," (Salinger 210). | "I went over and sat down on this bench, and she went and got on the carrousel" (Salinger 211).

9: "I do that quite alot when I'm in a certain mood..it's a nervous habit" (Salinger 129). | NERVOUSNESS

10: "The best thing, though in that museum was that everything always stayed right where it was. Nobody'd move...Nobody'd be different. The only thing that would be different would be you" (Salinger 121). | "I loved that damn museum" (Salinger 120).

13: EXPELLED | A letter from Pencey sent to Holdens parents saying that he was expelled.
