BC: Have you ever wanted to know what cells are all about? Cell Busters bust the cells right open for you to grasp a full understanding about cells.

2: Cell theory; The 3 Principles | States that all organisms are composed of similar units of organization called cells.Schleiden and Schwann came up with the concept in 1839. 3 Principles of the Cell Theory 1. All organisms consist of one or more cells. 2. The cell is the basic unit of structure for all organisms. 3. All cells arise ONLY from preexisting cells.

4: The 4 Cell Busters | 4 Scientists Schleiden Schwann Hooke Virchow Schleiden: Discovered that plant parts are made of cells. Co-founder of the cell theory along with Schwann. Schwann: Discovered animals were made up of cells. Co-founder of the cell theory along with Schleiden and went as far to say that all living things are made of cells. Hooke Coined the term “cell” when he saw that a cork had little rooms which looked like the cell rooms that monks used to live in. Virchow: Stated that all living cells come only from other living cells. He also discovered that pathologic reactions were reactions of cells.

6: Cells Busters | A prokaryotic cell is a cell that has no nuclei and a eukaryotic cell is a cell that contains a true nucleus. “Karyose" comes from a Greek root word which means kernel, as in kernel of popcorn. “Pro” means before and “Eu” means good and true. | THE FINAL BATTLE: PROKARYOTIC CELLS VS. EUKARYOTIC CELLLS

7: - - - - DIFFERENCES - - - - | - Eukaryotic DNA is linear; prokaryotic DNA is circular. - Both cell types contain ribosomes, but the ribosomes of eukaryotic cells have much more complex and bigger ribosomes. - The cytoplasm of the eukaryotic cells is filled with many organelles, most of them being enclosed by their own cell membrane. - The eukaryotic cell has a full nuclei and a double cell membrane, while the prokaryotic cells have no nucleus. even though the prokaryotic cell has no nucleus, the cell still produces DNA and several genetic materials.

8: Plant cells and animal cells have many things in common but also many differences; -Animal cells have one or more small vacuoles whereas plant cells have one large central vacuole that can take up to 90% of cell volume. -Animal cells are round whereas plant cells are rectangular. -Plant cells have chloroplasts -An animal cell has centrioles but a plant cell only has one in lower plant forms. -Plant cells have a cell wall but animal cells do not, they only have a cell membrane -Animal cells do not have plastids Furthermore, plant cells have chloroplasts for the production of energy from sunlight which gives plants their green color.

11: 10 CELL STRUCTURES | --CeLL Membrane - The cell membrane is a thin semi-permeable membrane that surrounds the cytoplasm of a cell, enclosing its contents. --CeLL Wall- The cell wall is the tough, usually flexible but sometimes fairly rigid layer that surrounds some types of cells. --Centrioles-A centriole is a barrel-shaped cell structure found in most animal eukaryotic cells --Cilia or Flagella,- Cilia and flagella move liquid past the surface of the cell. --Endoplasmic Reticulum- The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is repsonible for the production of the protein and lipid components of most of the cell's organelles --Golgi Complex- The Golgi complex or Golgi apparatus is responsible for organizing cells. --Lysosomes-Lysosomes hold enzymes that were created by the cell. --Mitochondria- organelles, or parts of a cell. Their main job is energy conversion. --Nucleus- The center and genetic manufacturing --Ribosomes-Small particles, present in large numbers in every living cell, whose function is to convert stored genetic information into protein molecules

13: Cell Membrane; The cell membrane serves as an outer wall for plant and animal cells. It serves as protection. Most cell membrane's are flexible and can create movement. Lipid molecules make up a cell membrane. To summarize, basically the function of a cell membrane is to form a barrier between the inside of the of the cell and the outside, so that the chemical environments on the two sides can be different. It keeps the fluids and organelles inside the cell and the harmful things from getting in.

14: The term homeostasis comes from the Greek stems. HOMEo meaning same and Homeostasis is the property of a cell that regulates and controls its inner self and tries to balance out more properties, such as pH levels and temperatures. it keeps the body working stable and correctly throughout. The concept was introduced by Claude Bernard in the early 1860s. | HOMEOSTASIS
