Once upon a time, there was a poor couple who lived in a small cottage on a hill. One day the wife was staring out her window and saw that their Charlie Tomato plant was dying. The wife begged her husband to go to the market to find someone who could save the tomato plant.
When the husband got to the market, he saw a strange man and asked, "My wife's tomato plant has died. Can you help us revive it?" "Sure," the man replied, "but on one condition. You give me your first born child." In a rush the husband said, "Yes," and took the man to his house.
When they arrived at the house the husband took the man to the Charlie Tomato plant. The man pulled out a magic wand and ZAP! the plant was alive again. The husband stood in the garden in amazement staring at the beautiful Charlie Tomato plant. "Are you a wizard?", the husband asked. "Yes" the wizard replied. The husband turned around to tell the wizard thank you, but he had vanished.
Three years later, when the couple had forgotten all about the wizard and the deal that had been made, their beautiful baby with beautiful brown hair was born. The couple named him Charlie. Right after the baby was born, the wizard appeared and took him! The mom cried in despair and hoped that she would get her baby back again.
, The wizard ran deep into the forest to a tall tower and locked Charlie in it with no way out. As he grew up, the wizard returned every few days to give Charlie food and water. When the wizard wanted to go up the tower he would call to him, “Charlie, Charlie, let down your long beard.” Charlie did as he was told and the wizard climbed up. This continued for many years until Charlie grew into a young man.
A few days later a beautiful princess with golden, flowing hair was riding through the forest on her white unicorn when she saw the wizard go to the tower and say, “Charlie, Charlie let down your long beard.” She wondered who was in the tower and decided to come back to the tower the next day.
When the princess came back the next day, she heard a beautiful voice singing. She rode her unicorn to the same tower where the voice was coming from. She tried to imitate the voice of the wizard and said “Charlie, Charlie let down your long beard.” Thinking it was the wizard, Charlie let down his beard and the princess climbed up.
When the beautiful princess climbed up, she saw Charlie singing. He was surprised to see a beautiful princess standing before him. “ I heard your singing, and it was beautiful”. "Thanks", said Charlie. I've been stuck up here for 29 years. Can you help me get down?" "Sure," the princess said. Since the princess was always prepared, she latched a rope that she had brought to the top of the tower, and they shimmied down the rope. They mounted her magic unicorn and galloped off to the castle.
As they rode to the castle they started falling in love. "I love to sing," Charlie told the princess. "I love to hear the birds sing with me" "That's really cool," the princess replied. "I love to sing too." "Maybe we could sing together" they said in unison. They laughed and a few minutes later they decided to marry.
When they were at the castle, Charlie asked "How can a small little princess like you save a man like me?" "Well," she replied "I pay attention and I think things through." "Wow, anyone can be a hero" Charlie said in wonder . Three weeks later they married and they had a wonderful ceremony. There was cake, cheese, music, harmony, and love. Then the princess and Charlie lived... Happily Ever After
