5: There are four types of child abuse in the world today. There is phyical, sexual ,emotional, and mistreatment. Kids today are abused by parents, family members, teachers and even strangers.
7: Physical abuse is the non-accidental infliction of physical injury to a child, also known as the battered child. The abuser is usually a family member or other caretaker, and is more likely to be male.
9: \Emotional abuse has been defined as the rejection, ingroning, critizing, isolation or terrozing of children all of which have the effect of lowering self esteem. 11: In 1996 more than 3 million victims of alleged abuse was reported. About 1.5% in other words of the country's children was victims of child abuse. The World Health Organization stated that as of 1999 about 40million children 14yrs and younger suffered from neglect or abuse.
13: With increased public and professinal awareness has come a big rise in the numbers of reported caese dealing with child abuse. But since abuse is often hidden and the victims are to young to speak out or to scared, experts reccomened that its the prevalence is possibly much greater then the data present.
15: Sexual Abuse is any activity with a child before the legal age for sexual gratifacation of an adult or a significantly older child. Sexual tounching, and penetration, persaunding a child to show their sexual organs and allowing them to watch pornograghy. In most caese the child is somehow related to or know the abuser, and about one in five abusers are thmeselves underage.
17: Many cases of neglect occur because maybe the parent experienced strong negative feelings towards the child. But at other times that might not be the caes. Parents can truley care about the child but lack the abilty or strenght to provide for their needs. as a result their phiysical social emotional and mental developement is hindered and seen more emontionally needy than others. .
19: Child abuse have lifeterm consequnces. Research shows that abused children and adolescents are more likely for instance to do poorly in school soffer emotional problems develope an antisocial personality, abuse drugs and alcohol and even attempt SUICIDE
