Essential Question | Why are computer networks so important for current society? - Computer networks are very important because they allow us to connect and communicate with other network clients and also to share information in Internet and with other users.
Once upon a time Georgina wanted to visit the American School of Tampico so badly because she wanted everyone to see her new Blackberry cellphone. When she finally went to school and took out her Blackberry, she started using the schools network, now she had became a network client and her cellphone a node.
Georgina decided to start using Facebook, so her Blackberry (node) sent the information from the outside to the NIC. The NIC is a card found inside the cellphone that permits communication between other devices.
After these, the wireless access point, which is used to give wireless Internet in a certain area, receives the data.
From here it goes to the switch, which gets the incoming data and takes it to its destination, through the fiber optic cable. This cable sends the data at the speed of light to the SITE.
Once the data gets to the SITE, which is in the center of everything having all the cables needed for a network, it goes to the router.
The router connects computer networks in order to send data files between them.
The router will detect if Georgina is a visitor or not, in this case she is. So now the proxy server checks it, and blocks it because its not part of ATS.
If Georgina would have been a hacker, that wanted to enter to the network, the data will go to the firewall, which will protect all the information in the network. This way, the firewall will protect the file server.
