2: Francisco Coronado was sent by Spain to claim the Southwest region to look for gold and jewels. He became an explore by leaving his family to make his older brother a fortune. He sailed to Mexico with Antonio de Mendoza, the colonies first Admial.
3: The picture to the left shows the Southwest region of the United States, the region Francisco Coronado explored. | The picture to your right is a picture of the Rio Grande. When Coronado was exploring the southwest region he also went up this river.
4: Some of the obstacles faced by Francisco Coronado were starvation, Starvation was an obstacle because the explorers had to ask the Indians for food and trade tools for food.Without food they would starve and a lot of other explorers struggled with this obstacle too.
5: In the picture above it shows a picture of poor maps. Coronado and others use these maps to get their route. They did not like these maps because they weren't in color and very old.
6: One of the accomplishments Coronado made was to find the Grand Canyon.The Grand Canyon is rock formated together.
7: A big accomplish was when Coronado got back he=became governor of part of New Spain. Even though he did not find riches or gold he still made a big accomplishment.
8: Francisco Coronado lived in Spain.He was born in 1510. He lead an army to help Coronado in his adventure. His route to the southwest was to go across the Atlantic Ocean and go through Mexico and reach Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. The picture above shows his route.
