2: This is the front and side of Grant School. Our school was built in 1911 and we are celebrating our 100th birthday this year. We have kindergarten through 5th grade and 14 classrooms. We have a library, gym, art room, counselor room and music trailer. Our school is near downtown and the public library is right across the street. 3: A trailer is an outside learning zone. Trailer B is a second grade class room. It is home to Mrs. Koppleman's class. There are 24 students. 4: This is the slide. To be safe on the slide, children go down one at a time. | This is the soccer field when it is covered in snow. | These are the tires. They are covered in snow. When kids are on them, they run around and jump off the rocks that surround the tires. | Playground A place where children rest their minds and play. | By Melissa, and Sam
5: These are some supplies we use during the school day. On the left is a Webster Dictionary. A dictionary is a book that gives the meaning of words. In the middle is our math book with a protractor for measuring angles. On the right is a notebook full of lined paper we use for writing. | School Supplies
6: The Eco Schoolhouse | Grant is trying to protect the environment, so we have invented the Eco schoolhouse where we recycle, reduce, and reuse while teaching in this class room. We use solar panels to collect sunlight to power our class with electricity. 7: By Anusha and Memphis | A Tour of Grant School's Kitchen | To the left is a picture of the kitchen storage room. It has so many of our favorite foods, like Rice Crispy Treats. | This is our water fountain. We push a little button and cold water comes out. After that we try to get catch the water with our mouth. Water is always available. | Above is the milk we get with lunch. We have so many types of milk like chocolate, strawberry and skim. They all taste delicious. | Every day we have a salad bar at lunch. It has lots of different foods like vegetables, fruit and pudding, At lunchtime we get in line and choose the food we want to eat. We have both a hot lunch and a sack lunch.to choose from. Then we go to the cafeteria to eat with our friends.
8: We don't dress fancy for school. We just pull something out of our closets and wear it. Girls normally wear skinny jeans, jean leggings and short shorts. Boys usually wear Polo shirts, plaid shorts, athletic shorts, blue jeans, and Under Armour. Steve | Here we are to show you what we wear to school. We do NOT wear uniforms, so we buy our own clothes and wear them to school. Every day we wear different clothes. Lucas | Our Clothing
9: This is a third grade class. They are learning on a smart board.. A smart board is a very big board that is like an interactive computer screen. You can write on it and move things with your finger or tap the screen to go to websites and it is like magic.. Students all have their own desks to sit at and store their books and supplies. | Third Grade Class | In this class students are learning about math. They are learning about shapes. Ross & Taylor
10: This is a printer. You can make things on the computer and print them. Then you have it on paper. | This is a computer. It helps us make this book and a lot of other things. We write our reports on it, get on the Internet, we play games on it, and make posters on it. | Technology | by Aalijsha Tycho and Ross | Above is a projector. It shows what is on the computer on the interactive SmartBoard (below).
11: The Office | Our principal, Mrs. Borduin, loves kids and they love her. She does almost everything from problem solving to shoveling snow. She is kind and really cares about us in every way. She is such a great principal she has won many awards. | Kaleo Cooper Colby | Our Principal, Mrs.Borduin | These are our hard working secretaries, Miss Bonnie and Miss Stephony. They help us if the nurse is not there, organize all the students' records, and they clap for you when you get an All Star cardf or doing something good. | Our school nurse, Miss Marla is also in the office. These are her supplies. She is nice.
12: The Library | This is our library. It has over 14,000 books!!!!! It is also attached to the computer lab! People love to work & read in the library. We also check out books and do research. There are picture books and chapter books and non-fiction books- all kinds!!!!! We go to the library once a week to check out books. | By: Jocelyn and Ben

16: Dear Students of Kenya, I hope you like this book. This book was done by Grant School’s 4th grade classes. We all worked hard on this book! Sincerely, Gwyneth | Dear Kenya Children, I hope that you like this book. We have been working on it for so long. First ,we took pictures of the certain topics that we and our partner chose. My partner and I chose the playground. We each took multiple pictures of different things. My partner and I chose the best , the unsurpassed pictures (in our opinion) to put in the Mixbook. Then we inserted them in the book, wrote about them, and added stickers if we wanted. Finally, we went over it until it met our satisfaction.
