 Phillis Wheatley

Phillis Wheatley was born around 1753 and died in 1784. Phillis Wheatley was brought to America as a slave in 1761. She was bought by a male from Boston named John Wheatley. Soon after arriving at the house John's wife Susanna saw her potential and educated her. Soon after being educated she began to write poems.] and became the first African American to right poems and books.

Mary Ludwig Hays McCauley "Molly Pitcher"

Mary was born in 1744 and died in 1832. Molly was best known for her action in taking over the gun/cannon after her husband was injured in the middle of a war. She originally was in the war to bring water to the troops in the field, she was one of the first women to fight in a war.

 Margaret Brent

Margaret Brent 1600 to 1671. Margaret Brent is best known for he speech about how America should be the first country to allow women to own land, settle land disputes, and raise armed volunteer groups. After being turned down for her plea to own land she moved to Virginia and lived for the rest of her life until she died at the age of 1671 at the age of 71.

All these women together contributed in many ways for what they thought was right. Many of them just wanted everyone to be treated equally man or woman. In my opinion all these women helped make America what it is today.
