Dear journal, | We are on a ship headed to Mexico. The trip is about 60 days long and we are 1 day from land. I am excited to see the land and start our civilization but before we can our leader, Pizzaro, has been planning a trip down south that I, and our people, have no idea of what it is and what lies ahead. The trip is said to be intense and because of that we need to work our bodies into the condition needed to survive. We are racing ahead to the coast and we have our livestock ready. We will proceed our journey and settle soon, hopefully. | Page 1
Dear journal, | Page 2 | We arrived at Mexico today. The land is beautiful and the temperature is always warm but not always sunny. We are now starting our journey south to find land in which to settle. The terrain is not rough yet but is said to be worse within the next few days. I found out we will be passing through the Andes mountains but thats all I know so far. The sunset is beautiful on the horizon as we walk away, some on foot and Pizzaro and a few others on horses. I am excited to find out our destination and to continue our journey down south.
Dear journal, | Page 3 | We are on our on our way through the Andes and only about a day away from our stopping point. We are starting to see native plants and animals never before seen by our eyes. There are tiny villages surrounding us and the people are giving us gifts. Pizzaro is taking us into the town to talk to their ruler, Atahualpa. He mentioned something about a war. I hope its nothing serious.
Dear journal, | Page 4 | Today is the day we arrived at the temple where Atahualpa lives. We told him about the war and he became angry at us. Pizzaro decided that we would attack when they least expect it. We left the Inca's main city and we hid on the outskirts of town.
Dear journal, | Page 5 | The Incas came into town in celebration because they thought we receded. They left their weapons at the temple and came along not expecting us. When they arrived a man from our tribe came out and showed Atahualpa his bible with our traditions. Atahualpa then skimmed through it, not knowing what it was, and he threw it to the ground. That angered him and us so we then ran out and attacked them. We killed off many and captured Atahualpa.
Dear journal, | Page 6 | When we arrived back with Atahualpa, we taught him our religions and played our native games with him to make him feel welcome. He was chained down so he could not escape. We held him there for long periods but still treated him as one of us .
Dear journal, | Page 7 | Atahualpa had many gifts of gold from his kingdom in exchange for him, but we denied this and still took the gold. We thought that since he knows where we are, and how to get here that we should kill him because he can plot against us. We took our gold and killed Atahualpa. The people where mad and tried to attack but they ended up dieing also. We melted the gold and used it for our purposes. We then settled in the land now ours.
