4: Life As a Kid | Many people in Italy like to watch horse races. They are very popular among Italians. These jockeys will race to the finish! | Researched & Written by Arden | Every town in Italy has at least one festival. Everyone takes the day off school or work to watch the parade.
5: Most Italians love soccer. Lots of people talk about it and play it. There are big games on Sunday afternoons. | There are many stray cats in Italy. You can see cats roaming Italian streets. A stray cat's life is very dangerous.
6: Interesting Places or Things To Know | Mount Vesuvius is the only active volcano in mainland Europe. Some of the continents were made by its eruptions.
7: This is the Roman Colliseum (in Rome, Italy). It has three styles of columns and was used as a stadium. | Researched & Written by Mason | The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a free standing bell tower and it's 186.02 feet on the high side. They do not let people in it because they think it will fall down. There is a total of 7 bells tuned to a musical scale, clockwise.
8: Land and Animals | These mountains are famous in Italy. They are called the Alps. | Researched & written by Emma | This is a chamois. It is like a goat that lives in the mountains. It can leap up to 40 feet.
9: This is an ibex. They like to live in Italy's national parks. They are rare in Italy. | Wolves (like this one) roam southern Italy. You can see it has big ears like a cat. This helps it hear well. Wolves can climb as fast as a cheetah can run! Pads on his paws help him climb up, up up!
10: Favorite Foods | Pizza was first made in (Naples), Italy. Pizza is the Italian word for pie.!
