BC: Jeans have become an emblem of western clothing and lifestyle. Levi Strauss is also a perfect example of the "American Dream". Levi Strauss is a visionary and an innovator.

1: A boy from the east sets his sights on innovation.
2: Levi Strauss has created a brand. However, he has done much more. He has added a staple to western clothing and is considered a pure visionary.
3: In 1850 Levi Strauss, moved from New York to San Francisco.
4: He arrived during the gold rush, he was one of thousands.
5: He planned to make tents and wagon covers.
6: however, there was no market for these items. So, he fashioned them into pants.
7: Miners loved them for their durable material.
8: They sold like hot cakes, even faster than he could sell them.
9: He opened up a factory to keep up with demand. He also started o use denim and added copper rivets to reinforce pockets
10: He named his great invention "Levis." However in France they called his pants "genes", which quickly translated to "jeans" here in America.
11: After his success, he branched out to open many banks, insurance companies and charitable organizations.
