5: The Victoria High School (Vic High) Improv Club is all about giving students the opportunity to build excellent team work and public speaking skills and above all, to have fun! The club is run by Mr. Alan Penty (Drama Teacher at Vic High) and Jonathan Argue (Parent, past Managing Director of the Impromaniacs Theatre Company). This year's student coaches are Monica Ogden and Kevin Koch. The excitement builds as the team prepares to compete in the Regional Championships in February 2012 with the hope of going to the National Competition in Ottawa.

IT IS THE LARGEST AND MOST GEOGRAPHICALLY DISPERSED THEATRE FESTIVAL IN CANADA, WITH TEAMS COMPETING FROM 14 REGIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

14: Amazing workshops with Dave Morris, Improviser Extraordinaire! | The hard work begins. Lots of practicing is required to prepare for Ottawa. The T-shirts and shark logo are created, and planning begins for fundraising.

17: The team did an amazing job working on advancing their skills, and we have the trophy from the regional championship to prove it! We practiced four times a week together, developing our improv skills and learning how to hustle! | Thank you to all who contributed to our gala fundraiser - we raised over $2,000.00 | Performing for Shaw TV | Donations from Golf for Kids and the Vic High PAC helped us reach our fundraising goal!! 18: We left Victoria at 5:00am and arrived in Ottawa at 4:00pm. Vice Principal Tammy Renyard came along to keep us out of trouble. | off to ottawa
19: It was the first plane ride for some students!! | Our hotel was close to Dunn's Smoked Meats, a 24 hour deli. We could walk to the NAC and the University of Ottawa
20: A highlight was attending Question Period in the House. | Mr. Penty networking with other Improv coaches. | Tyson's hacky sac was confiscated as a potential weapon! | We had amazing weather with clear blue skies every day. | Looking at the view of Gatineau from the Peace Tower | Waiting for the Senate Parade in the Parliament Buildings. | The Chateau Frontenac | OTTAWA APRIL 3-8 | The National Arts Centre.

23: Seeing the tomb of the Unknown Soldier was a moving experience. CIG teams met on the step of the Parliament Buildings for a group shot. | Tori and Monica | Musem of Civilization
25: Shark Men | We placed 14th out of 20 teams. Our best score was a Story Event about a volcano and true love. We all appreciated the opportunity to compete on the national stage. It was an amazing adventure.
