FC: I.N.S.P.E.C.T. | Moving West

I Dedicate this mix book to the one and only Steven Stamkos. (and everybody else in the NHL besides Dan Carcillo)

Ideas | The great ideas from the famous people of this time created America. The Westward movement was a good idea. It helped our country gro That idea came to more ideas like better

transportation, but it also led to some bad ones. Indian removal from their land was a bad idea. They made the Indians move west of the Mississippi river.

Natural Geographic | The land was a huge part of the movement to the West. The rivers were used for travel North to South. Not many rivers traveled East to South so they couldn't really use the rivers to move West. So that made them use wagons,

but the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains were hard to get by with them. The wagons worked well going over the plains in Central North America.

Social | The Americans interacted with the American Indians in different ways. Some of the Americans forced the Indians to move West of the Mississippi River because they were on good land and they thought the Indians were wasting it. So they made them move to the dry, dead land in the southwest. The Trail of

Tears was created by this. Many Native Americans died from this. The Americans in the far West by Oregon treated the Indians better. They traded with each other.

Plitical | Some famous people during this movement to the West were Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams. Andrew Jackson was a president and created the Spoils system. He also played a crucial role by keeping our town.

together. There were some issues and the Southerners wanted to secede from the United States, but Jackson fixed that. During this time he said," Our Federal Union.... all were preserved.

Cultural | They were very classy people. The women wore dresses all the time. No matter where they went they were them. The men wore their suits during their job and at home.

Back then they had many things to do for their free time. They went to horse races and gambles. They also went to many plays and musicals.

Technological | There were many inventions that helped make our country the way it is today. Like the Textile mill that makes yarn and is powered by water. Most machines were powered by

rivers or streams. The inventions of canals, roads, and steam boats helped transportation towards the West Coast.

Conclusion | These events of moving westward increased the population of America by a ton. I learned how we got to the West coast. That was by many different ways of transportation. People back then were excited to travel west because they didn't know what was out there, but now we do.

A lot has changed since then. We have much faster ways of travel, and we have traveled pretty much every where in America. These actions affected our lives. We can now live in many different places, and get to places we need to go.
