FC: Personal Poetry Zack Hanville 3-4 A

Contents Magical Kitchen New Divide by Linkin Park Language Arts

Magical Kitchen There are many rooms in a home Rooms to roam Rooms to sleep Rooms to talk on the telephone But the kitchen is something else With its stocked pantry And fridge full of goods Not a place to let out a belch

Whatever is the oven Will surely be fantastic As long as it is not green bread Or anything red My mother walks in And begins to cook something up What could it be? Some dead animal, probably

The kitchen is full of magic It has what no other room has Why go sit in the living room When food can be eaten instead

New Divide Linkin Park I remembered black skies The lightning all around me I remembered each flash As time began to blur Like a startling sign That fate had finally found me (personification) And your voice was all I heard That I get what I deserve

So give me reason To prove me wrong To wash this memory clean Let the floods cross The distance in your eyes Give me reason To fill this hole Connect this space between Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies Across this new divide

There was nothing inside The memories left abandoned There was nowhere to hide The ashes fell like snow (simile) And the ground caved in Between where we were standing And your voice was all I heard That I get what I deserve

So give me reason To prove me wrong To wash this memory clean Let the floods cross The distance in your eyes Across this new divide (free verse)

In every loss in every lie (end rhyme) In every truth that you deny (end rhyme) And each regret and each goodbye (end rhyme) Was a mistake too great to hide And your voice was all I heard That I get what I deserve So give me reason To prove me wrong To wash this memory clean Let the floods cross The distance in your eyes

Give me reason To fill this hole Connect this space between Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies Across this new divide Across this new divide Across this new divide (stanzas)

Language Arts | Language Arts A class with many parts It’s not like physics Or chemistry All about the smarts Language Arts is not all about spelling And includes imagery, including smelling Ms. Glenn teaches poetry, too Greek roots and novels With many more concepts dwelling

What more could there be? There is much more that I see Parts of speech Mythology as well Thinking hard is really the key Language arts is different Just don’t be absent Nothing good by missing this From reading to grammar What could be more pleasant?

Language arts has much included Not much excluded This class is important Containing so much This poem has now been concluded
