12: The most responsible for the Nanking Genocide, was the Japanese High Command. This includes the Emperor Hirohito. Hirohito Uncle was the one who issued the order to "Kill all captives" which was the main key point to the hatred against the Nanking men. | The Japanese soldiers would take any men prisoner and refuse to give them food or water. They would promise them food and work. After such days like these, they would take the prisoners and bind their wrists securely and take them to an isolated area.

15: Contemporary Significance | The significance in learning about the Rape of Nanking exposes the reality of other genocides besides the, most known genocide, the Holocaust. Learning about the suffering and mass murder that happened in Najing in 1937 ensures people to never make those mistakes again and to grow shameful of historic events like that. By seeing the horrible consequences people suffered and recognizing the stories of everyone it affected, will show us today that, if for any reason something happening like that would happen again, the world will be able to identify the wrongs with those ideas through the comparisons of the similarities brought upon by other genocides.
16: This Zhang Xiuhong. An 11 year old girl during the Rape of Nanking. | This is one of the hundreds of thousands stories from the lives of the Rape of Nanking, These are some quotes from Zhang Xiuhong from an interview about the event.

18: The Nanking Massacre displaced thousands. Once the government was finally able to step in and rebuild the city the population grew to 700,000 which is generally two-thirds of the postwar population.
