FC: Social Network Learning: Contributing Lora Evanouski 597 Dr Dawley, Fall 2010
Some of my social network has been derived through Wordpress, Linkedin, and Facebook. I have expanded my role in social networking by combining Twitter to Wordpress, Academia, and Linkin. I have posted completed works through Linkedin and Academia which both feed into Facebook. | My blog at Wordpress allows me to link through widgets important RSS feeds and my Twitter account. When I post an important post to my my blog I also have a link allowing sharing across to Facebook and Twitter!
Through Twitter I have learned how to tweet and post articles, opinions, or even post YouTube videos that are important to me. By my interaction on Twitter I may reach more educational technologists in the future. | I have joined Linkedin and started making important connections with my peers. I have used Moodle in the past but I have now connected with other peers through the GSA portal and accessed the blog and facebook accounts leading to more connections. These connections help to maintain a great network of knowledge.
As I searched through many blogs and I found the subject of wanting to ban social networking from school use. I find this thinking back word because most students today learn through social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. Using these networks connects many different views that can be debated.
As I searched for more information I came across new technology to help support the use of social network learning in the classroom. I even generated a response from my post questioning the new technology looking for opinions on ease of use and if anyone was using this technology.
Sometimes it is shown immediately... in fact you may even generate a response!
I am interested in heart health and fitness. I joined in with a group called Sparkpeople.
Eating healthy is not only good for me but also to teach my students.
Some of my accounts offer stats to keep track of important items.
Some have very easy graphs to read.
I try to keep myself organized by using Symbaloo | and iGoogle.
and I try to market myself by add in widgets, so I can connect with other EdTech enthusiasts!
