FC: Ukraine to
Day 1. Leaving the Ukraine I was hard for me to leave the Ukraine. It was such a nice place people were friendly, the animals were amazing, the football was outstanding, and the food was the best. But we had to leave because the police where forcing us to join the army. I hated how I could only bring one bag. I brought a big bag so I could fit a lot of things in it. I brought 1 pair of shorts, 1 pair of jeans, 2 tee shirts, money, blanket, and a hacky sack.
When we were boarding the ship I was really disappointed to be leaving the Ukraine. I loved it in the Ukraine. My Dad looked upset too. At the same time I was happy to be going to the United States of America. My mom moved there two years ago and I would be able to see her again. I really hoped we could come back to the Ukraine and live here again when the police weren’t making people join the army.
Day 2. On the Boat The first day on the boat was pretty interesting. Every body was scrambling for spots on the boat. People were fighting over spots to sleep, sit, and to put their stuff. It was chaos. I was really bored on the ship so I brought out my hacky sack. A lot of people were amazed that I was so good at hacky sacking. It started to get late. After a little meal I found a spot on the deck and fell asleep.
Day 3. Still on the Boat When I woke up it was very cold, and windy, and it was raining. The waves were crashing against the boat. We were in the middle of a storm. The ship swayed back and fourth. For the rest of the day it was wet and boring. | Day 4. Home sick It has been four days on the boat and I started to get a little home sick. I missed my house, the food, the wild life, and the land of the Ukraine. I just wanted to get off the boat and back home. I hated the boat. | The Boat
Day 5. Land at Last We have been on the boat for five days now. I am very bored. All I am doing is playing with some rope and apiece of wood I found when a man next to me said, “I see land.” Then I said I could see the Statue Of Liberty. Every body cried with joy. It was a great sight.
Day 6. The arrival When we got to Ellis Island it was crowded. Many people from all over the world were trying to get in to the United States of America. First we had to put our bags in a baggage room. Then we had to walk up the stairs to the great hall. You couldn’t struggle walking up the stairs or you will go home.
Next I had to have a medical exam. It was pretty weird for people that you don’t know to examine you. Then we had to wait in the great hall for a few hours. While waiting in the hall I took out my hacky sack. Next we had to get checked that we were able to get in the United States of America. We had to exchange our money. I got these paper rectangles. They were called dollars. Finally I was allowed to go into the United States of America. I was so excited. When I saw my mom I cried with joy. So did she.
