2: American Airlines Center Venue-Basketball | American Airlines Center is located in Dallas and is home to the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Stars. It opened on July 17, 2001 and is owned by the City of Dallas and is managed by the Dallas Mavericks.

3: Bowling History-Bowling | Bowling dates back to 3200 BC and is more than 5000 years old and the International Bowling Hall of Fame is located in Arlington. In 1951 America Machine and Foundry Company purchased the patents to create the auto pinsetter which was introduced in 1952. 95 million people in 90 countries across the world bowl everyday.

4: Capitol 10,000 Competiton-Running | The Capitol 10,000 has been held for 34 years and is the largest 10K in Texas and the fifth-largest 10K in the nation. It is held in Austin and attracts 20,000+ runners every year. The winner for the 2011 race was Scott MacPherson with a time of 29.58 seconds.

5: FC Dallas Team-Soccer | FC Dallas is a MLS soccer team located in the Dallas suburb of Frisco,TX. They play at Pizza Hut Park and are currently in 6th place in the West conference of MLS. Their main rivals are the Houston Dynamo creating an in-state rivalry.

6: UTEP tennis Team-Tennis | UTEP tennis team plays in the C-USA conference and currently is in the offseason as they have been knocked out of the conference tournament. This tennis team is unusual as they don't have a men's tennis team and only have a women's team. They play on the campus of UT-El Paso.

7: Fishing History-Extreme | Fishing dates all the way back to 2000 BC when the Egyptians started fishing a rod and line, and with nets. Fishing for sport was pioneered by C.F Holder in 1898 when he caught a 183 lb. Bluefin tuna off Santa Catalina Island,CA. In 1939 the International Game Fish association was founded and regulates and promotes sport fishing around the world.

8: Golf History-Golf | The modern game of golf originated in Scotland in 1457 when James II banned the game. Around the beginning of the 20th century, golf really started to come to the USA and become a sizable force. Since then golf in the US has exploded, with Texas not being spared from the growth either. About 28.6 million people played golf in the US in 2009. The simplest rule is to play the ball as it lays.

9: Chevron Houston Marathon Competition-Golf | The Chevron Houston Marathon takes place in Houston on January 15th and starts at the intersection of Crawford and Prairie drives and finishes at the Brown Convention Center. The 2011 race attracted 8507 runners and out of that 94% of runners finished the marathon. The marathon attracts runners from all the continental 48 US states and occasionally gets runners from foreign countries as well.

10: Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial | Competition-Golf | The Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial is a golf tournament played at Colonial Country Club in Ft. Worth, TX. The torunament is one of the only restricted field, non-major torunaments left on the PGA Tour. Last year's winner was Zach Johnson with a final score of 259 over four days. The tournament starts on May 18th and ends on May 22nd. Ben Hogan has won the tournament the most by winning it five times in his career.

11: Jiu-Jitsu History-Extreme | Jiu-Jitsu is the most ancient martial that has existed, and was believed to have either started in India, then China, then Japan, and finally Brazil. However Brazil is the world's center for the sport as it is has become more popular than other country's forms of Jiu-Jitsu.The valid moves are those which seek to neutralize, immobilize, strangle and apply any kind of pressure on the twisting joints, as well as knocking down your opponent by take-down. However, you can't win in Jiu-Jitsu as the main goal is to play fair.

12: Katy High School Baseball | Katy High School baseball team is located in Houston,Texas, and is known for their power and skill on the baseball field. Their coach,Tom McPherson, has won over 600 games as a coach in his career and is among the top 10 coaches in the state by wins. | Team-Baseball

13: Lance Armstrong | Individual-Cycling | Lance Armstrong is a world-renowned cyclist and has won the Tour de France seven times and he won all of his titles consecutively after being diagnosed with cancer in 1996. Recently he has been in the media for allegedly taking performance enhancing drugs. His teammate in the 1999 Tour de France has allegedly seen him taking these drugs. His rep may be tarnished but his achievements are not.

14: Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas | Competition- Football | The Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas, formerly the Bluebonnet Bowl, Houston Bowl and the Texas Bowl, is a college football playoff game that is played at Reliant Stadium in Houston. The original Bluebonnet Bowl was played from 1959 to 1987 at either the Astrodome or at Rice Stadium but ended after the '87 game. The Houston Bowl was played from 2000-2005 at both the Astrodome and Reliant Stadium. Finally, the Texas Bowl was started in 2006 and continues to be played to date. The game matches up a Big 12 team with a Big Ten team.

15: Nolan Ryan Baseball-Individual Nolan Ryan was born in Refugio, TX. His high school english teacher was Bessie May Kee. He was a world famous pitcher for 27 years and he played for the Angels, Astros, Rangers, and Mets from 1966-1993. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999 with only 6 ballots voting against him.

16: The PGA Tour Shell Houston Open tournament is a world famous tournament the week before the Masters where golfers of any skill try to win the Shell trophy. It is usually regarded as the final warm-up before the Masters. Phil Mickelson won the 2011 tournament with a final round score of 65. 17: Aaron Peirsol Individual-Swimming | Aaron Peirsol is a professional swimmer for the US Olympic team and also swims for Longhorn Aquatics in Austin,TX. He has won many awards for the US Olympic team including 29 gold medals and he specializes in the backstroke and the breaststroke.

18: Quan Cosby Individual-Football | Quan Cosby was born in Waco, Texas December 23, 1982. He played for Texas, and used to be a quarterback but now is a very successful wide receiver. He also was not bad at baseball, as he hit for a .479 high school batting average.

19: Round Rock Express Team-Baseball | The Round Rock Express is a minor league baseball team that plays in Round Rock, Texas and plays in the Pacific Coast League. They are in first place of the Southern Divison in the American conference of the league.

20: Robertson Stadium Venue-Soccer | Robertson Stadium is a Houston located stadium, and can host many sports including: Soccer, Football, Track and other Field Events. You can buy tickets for events at Robertson Stadium for $10 to $70 each.

21: The Toyota Center in Houston, TX hosts many basketball games including it's home team the Houston Rockets. It can also host volleyball games including the Toyota Center Volleyball Tournament! | Toyota Center Venue-Basketball

22: UT Football Team-Football | The Longhorns are a famous football team in the US. They have won the National Championship 4 times since 1963 and are still trying to win it again and again. The Longhorns are a college team in the NCAA and can't pay any of their athletes money while professional leagues can pay theirs.

23: Volleyball History-Volleyball | Volleyball is an Olympic team sport and a pleasure sport, most people think of beach volleyball but indoor volleyball is just as competitive and popular. Volleyball was invented on February 9, 1859 but was first called Mintonette but later changed to Volleyball.

24: Westlake Track Team-Track | The Westlake Track team is located at Westlake High School, which is located in Austin, Texas. The track team has won district 3 times in a row, being the fastest in all the events. The scoring works when someone wins they add 100 points to that team's score, second place earns 50 points and 3rd earns 25 points.

25: Xtreme Paint ball Park Venue-Extreme | The Xtreme Paintball Park is located in Austin, TX and is usually visited by players of all ages. Players of all skill can compete in the games, but only members can compete in tournaments for trophies or small amounts of money.

26: Yao Ming Individual-Basketball | Yao Ming is professional basketball player who plays for the Houston Rockets located in Houston, Texas. He usually plays Center with a towering height of 7'6", being the tallest player on the whole team. In the Olympics he plays for China, as he is a citizen of China.

27: Zilker Park Venue-Running | Zilker Park is located in Austin, Texas and is a very popular Texas destination. It hosts many pick-up games meaning games anyone can play in. It has fields for Soccer, Basketball (on the courts), and Football.
