BC: The End

Dear Editor, My opinion about Daisy, Gatsby and Tom was that it was a crazy love triangle. I felt bad for Gatsby because he loved Daisy so much and she didn’t love him the same way that he loved her. He loved her so much that he had got shot by Wilson. Daisy and Tom’s love wasn’t even real they were both cheating on each other with other people, and they had knew about it. The only reason that Tom and Daisy were together was because of status purposes. In the end even though I don’t think Gatsby deserved to die, but I’m glad that he didn’t end up with Daisy because she would’ve ended up suffering anyways. Gatsby had gave up so much for Daisy, he stopped having parties and he even fired his servants staff, hoping that Daisy would come to him. When Myrtle had gotten ran over he was going to take the blame for it because he loved her so much. I hope Daisy ends up alone and miserable for the rest of her life. Sincerely, Kelsie Broome

Late this afternoon on August 30, 1922 Jay Gatsby was found dead by his close friend Nick Carraway. Gatsby was shot to death by George Wilson. Wilson then turned the gun on himself. This is a tragic story, not too long ago Wilson’s wife Myrtle Wilson was hit by a car. Gatsby’s close friend Nick found his body this afternoon. Gatsby was shot in his own pool at his house. Police suspect that Wilson killed Gatsby because he thought he killed he’s wife. The weapon used has still not been released, but it soon will be. This is a sad way to end the summer here at Long Island. | Millionaire Dead! | By: Yadira Sosa

On August 2, 1992 Myrtle Wilson died because of a hit and run. Yesterday afternoon Myrtle Wilson was found died at the scene. The car that hit her hasn’t been found but, there are witnesses that say it was a big yellow automobile. The car must have been traveling to fast to not have seen Myrtle but, witnesses say that she run in front of the car hoping to stop it for some reason. Myrtle is married to George Wilson who owns Wilson’s auto shop. Myrtle was hit by the car right in front of the auto shop. What a tragic event for these people here in Long Island. Hopefully, the killer will be found soon. | Misery in Long Island.

The Great Gatsby is one of F. Scott Fitzgerald's greatest novels. On a one to ten rating I give it nine. This book gives a view of the American nouveau riche (which is a characteristic of someone who got rich but doesn’t have the social skills appropriate for the new position) in the 1920s. The Great Gatsby is an American classic and a great book. The book is neat and well written. Fitzgerald seems to have an understanding of the lives that are corrupted by greed and that are incredibly sad and unfulfilled. The novel's events are told through the consciousness of its narrator, Nick Carraway, a Yale graduate, who is a part of and separated from the world he describes. When he moves to New York, he rents a house next door to the mansion of an eccentric millionaire (Jay Gatsby) and becomes his friend. Long ago, Gatsby fell in love with a young girl, Daisy. Although she has always loved Gatsby, she is married to Tom Buchanan. Nick arranges tea for them to meet at his house. | Book Review | The Great Gatsby Book Review

. The two soon rekindle their affair. Tom begins to suspect the affair and challenges it--also revealing that Gatsby's fortune was made through illegal gambling and bootlegging. Gatsby and Daisy leave and drive back to New York. In the wake of the emotional confrontation, Daisy hits and kills Myrtle. Gatsby feels that his life would be nothing without Daisy, so he decides to take the blame. George Wilson, Myrtle’s husband, discovers that the car that killed his wife belongs to Gatsby. He then goes to Gatsby's house and shoots him. Nick arranges a funeral for his friend, and then decides to leave New York. I strongly recommend this book because it gives insight into the life of the upper class and even life in general. This book also tells how love is eternal and can withstand the test of time and distance as well. Fitzgerald knows the book personally because he was also a victim of this lifestyle. The Great Gatsby paints a brilliant picture of the American dream in a time when it descended into decadence. Written by Kevin Knowles

Dear Evinkay, Lately my wife has been quite taken by a gentleman that lives next door to my best friend. I have recently found out that they were ex-lovers. I am concerned because I believe that she will become unfaithful to me. This guy is also increasingly spending time with her against my requests. What should I do? | Advice from Evinkay

Dear Tom, It sounds like your wife and the gentleman you are speaking of still have very strong feelings for each other and their relationship was probably ended in a, victim of circumstances, type of scenario. That would explain how they still have feelings for each other. I can say this though; their feelings for each other are only going to get stronger until she does leave you for this other gentleman. There are two things you can do. One is to move away from the gentleman and find somewhere to live in another state. Another option is to confront this gentleman and explain to him that she is married and to leave her alone, but this option may not work seeing as how strong the feelings they have for each other are. I hope these suggestions work for you and good luck to you. secretly written by Kevin Knowles
