FC: The Nervous System By: Jace Burton
The neuron is the building block of the nervous system. The neuron sends messages that are chemical and electrical. | The Neuron
Types of neurons | There are three neuron types and they are the motor neurons, the sensory neurons, and the association neurons. They are found in the muscles and in the brain and the spinal cord.
The Reflex | The reflex is the thing that lets us do what we do every day and what limits.
The central nervous system | The central nervous system is made up of the spinal cord. There are three tissues called the meninges.
The Cerebrum | the cerebrum is the is your brain and is the thing that lets you move, think, and do anything. The cerebrum is made up of 2 hemispheres.
The cerebellum, medulla, and spinal cord | The cerebellum is located behind the cerebrum. The cerebellum is divided into two hemispheres and has layers made up of gray and white matter. The purpose of the cerebellum is to control balance and coordination. The medulla oblongata is the lowest part of the brain, and is attached to the spinal cord. The medulla is made up of both white and gray matter. The white matter is on the outside. The white matter serves as a pathway for nerve messages from the higher parts of the brain. The spinal cord is a long bundle of nerves cell that is found i your back. It extends from your brain to your pelvis.
The Peripheral nervous system | the peripheral nervous system is connected to the the central nervous system. It controls your organs and your vitals.
