2: In 1902 John Steinbeck was born in Salinas ,California. Twenty-five miles from the the pacific coast, John grew up in an agricultural valley. Who knew his surroundings with benefit his later occupation. Indeed it did , he supported his yearn for literature by starting off as a journalist in New York city and later a care taker . Soon after John married; events such as these are what influence his novel writings . His most famous book was Tortilla Flat ; which he wrote in 1935. Before his death in 1968 ,John successfully completed twenty-four novels and became an Nobel Prize winner in 1962.
4: Kino and his family lived in the poor part of La Paz .. The doctor on the other hand, lived in the wealthy area where the houses were made of clay instead of brush!

6: Kino (father) His pride & man hood was questioned a lot in the novel , but at the end it was very well proved. . | Doctor (fortunate one) | He was very hostile an prejudice towards Kinos' financial status and refuse to see the baby. The pearl later cause him to call Coyotito his patient. | Beggar Theses guys were good at financial analyzing . Beggar were found at the front of the church
7: Coyotito (son) He is the baby and as I read I found the story revolves around him .. | Juana (Wife) vVrry respectful ,patient,diligent and loves her husband regardless of the circumstance they face
8: Chapter One: In this chapter Coytito is bitten by a scorpion . Unfortunately for the family the doctor is rich and snobibsh. They go up to see the doctor and are turned around at the gate. As a result Kino punches the gate slicing his hand open.
9: Chapter two: In hopes of finding a fortune that would pay for the cure for their baby; Kino pearl hunts. Humming the song of the under sea Kino unintentionally struck gold and found the pearl of the world.
10: Chapter Three: The following describes how the town function as the body does. The news traveled from the top to bottom about Kinos' new found fortune. He told the people his plans for it. Former opposer's became humble servants to Kino, such as the doctor who came down to cure the baby. After being attacked Juana declared the pearl evil.
11: Chapter Four : Kino heads in town in hopes of selling the pearl for a fair price. To his misfortune, the appraisers told him the worth of the pearl wasn't what is appeared to be. As a result Kino threated to sale it at the capital.
12: Chapter Five: In this chapter the evil of the pearl is revealed. Examples to show are, Kino killing a man. He also hits his wife out of rage. Kino and Juana's house is burned and canoe is damaged . They're on the run.
13: Chapter six: This chapter ends with Kino throwing the pearl back from which it came . As you can see he finally relised the evil that the pearl inflicted. The events that lead up to this is Coyitito being shot and the lose of their canoe and home.
14: A lot can be learned and taken from this novel. What I took from it is not to place your hopes and dreams in one object because it appears to be good . Reason being is , things aren't always what they're planed out to be because you never know what unexpected thing can happen , to side track you an ruin all of it . Then whats next? Also be careful who you step on when your trying to get there because you may need them. | Moral:
