1: Amy Culpepper 5th period Mrs.. Crew October 17,2009

2: The setting was in La Paz Mexico

4: Juana | Kinos wife and mother of his child.. she prayed to her god to help kino find the pearl to take Coyotito

5: Coyotito | Hes the son of Juana and Kino.. He got stung by a scorpion. And a tracker killed him.

6: Kino | Kino is the father of Coyotito and Husband of Juana. He found the pearl. to help pay the doctor to cure Coyotito.

8: Chapter 1 Summary Coyotito gets stung by a scorpion. And his mom Juana sucks the poison out to help. And his dad Kino, kills the scorpion. They wont to bring Coyotito to the doctor so they did but the doctor would not take him, because they had nuthen to give him., and because the doctor is very racis.

9: Chapter 2 Summary Juana makeas a poulic for coyotitos sholder to help the swelling. Kino goes diving for a pearl so that they can bring Ciyotito to the doctor, and Kino finds the pearl and they bring him to the doctor.

10: Chapter 3 Summary Kino shows the pearl to everybody because it was the pearl of the world and Coyotito got better,. and the doctor found out about it and went to Kinos house and poisoned Coyotito.

11: Chapter 4 Summary Kino gets attacked. Then the next day he goes out to try and get a good price on the pearl, but they dident give him a good price so he left.

12: Chapter 5 Summary Juana trys to get rid of the pearl. So Kino Beats her. Then Kino get attacked. He kills the dude so they went to his brothers house and hides from them gets tired of hiding and leaves the town

13: Chapter 6 Summary Kino and his family goes to the mountains to hide. Coyotito gets shot by trackers because they thought that he was an animal.

14: The Theme or the story is between good and evil

15: John Steinbeck was born in Salinas California on February 27, 1902. After school in 1919 he went to Stanford University. His first novel cup of gold was published in 1929. John was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962.
