2: Antones Blues Venue Antones was the first club on Sixth Street in Austin, Texas, originally opened in 1975. It was named Nightclub of the Year by USA Today and the W.C. Handy Awards. Antones helped launch the careers of many famous artists, such as Los Lonely Boys and Ian Moore. Countless more people have performed there, including the widely known ZZ Top. It is considered to be one of the main reasons that Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World.

3: Beyoncé Knowles was born in Houston, Texas. Her father, Mathew Knowles, manages Destiny's Child. Her mother, Tina Knowles, designs their glittering costumes. Beyoncé and her group were discovered by Whitney Houston. She was born in Houston, Texas. She toured with Christina Aguilera as her opening act. 4: Code Blue Rock Band Code Blue is a classic rock band that has been playing in Austin since 1995. It is a cover band, which means they sing songs already written and that are not original. It is known for its three and four part harmonies, which must sound pretty amazing! The band is made up of six people; Joe Augeri, Bill Howland, J R Robinson, Jimmy Fenno, Lori Flores, and John Grimball. The band was started by answering an ad in a local newspaper.

5: Demi Lovato Solo Pop Artist Demi Lovato lived in Dallas, Texas. She is very good at playing the guitar and piano. She is very smart; she graduated from high school a year early. She starred in two Disney movies- Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2- and is currently on a show called Sonny With a Chance, on which she sings some of her songs. She has two sisters, Dallas Lovato and Madison De La Garza.

6: The Eyes of Texas Traditional Folk Song | The Eyes of Texas is a fight song at the University of Texas at Austin. It is sung to the tune of “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”. It was written in 1903 by John Sinclair. The original form of the song is located in the Alumni Center. Sinclair wrote it to make fun of Colonel Prather, the president of the university at the time.

7: The Frank Erwin Center is located at 1701 Red River in Austin, Texas. They showcase a variety of different types of music including country and pop. There largest crowd ever was for John Denver. They have had over 23 million people attend since 1977. Issues of Applause are distributed each month at the Frank Erwin Center and at Texas Box Office outlets. | Frank Erwin Center Venue

8: Galveston was written by songwriter Jimmy Webb. He was on a beach in Galveston when he wrote this. It was released in 1969. Galveston went to #1 on the pop charts when it was sung by Glen Campbell. Galveston was a song from the 13th album Glen Campbell released. | Galveston Pop Song

9: The HighBall is a diner in Austin where they usually have live country music artists preform. Its theme is the 1960's. It features eight lanes of bowling allies and seven different themed karaoke rooms. It also has a ballroom/event space for dance parties, live music, and karaoke nights. 10: The Iron Horse Pub is located in Wichita Falls, Texas. It opened in September 2000. Since then the Pub has presented more than 1,000 musical acts. It has a classic Irish atmosphere. It was founded by John Dickinson and Danny Ahern. | The Iron Horse Pub Music Venue

11: Austin Jazz Festival Jazz Festival | The Austin Jazz Festival this year is to be held at the Zilker Hillside Theater in Zilker Park. it is run by the Austin Jazz society. The purpose of Austin Jazz Society is to memorialize professional jazz musicians who, at some point in their career, performed in Austin and the surrounding areas.It is also their aim to celebrate current performing jazz artists and encourage and educate future jazz musicians. Their purpose is achieved through concerts, educational workshops, and performance opportunities.

12: Kelly Clarkson Rock Band | Kelly Clarkson, the lead singer of her band (they are all known as just Kelly Clarkson) was born in Burleson, Texas in 1982. Her first song sold almost 250,000 copies in its first week! Her voice is so loud and strong, she has won the award for strongest voice from the TV Choice awards. Kelly's singles Since You Been Gone and Breakaway were awarded Platinum four times! What an honor! Also, in five years, Kelly hopes to be completing her third album and touring; maybe even doing some Broadway after that. She wants to write and produce for herself or other artists.

13: Austin City Limits Festival | Austin City Limits is a festival that happens every fall in Austin, Texas. In the past, many famous artists have come to sing and play their music, including Kings of Leon. In addition to all the music they have there, there are many other things one can do at ACL, like go to a farmer’s market for instance. Also, one can listen to old records, get autographs, or look at cars. All of this and there is also so much food! Who could ask for more?

14: Madrigal and Chamber Choir Festival Classical Festival | The Madrigal/Chamber Choir Festival takes place in San Antonio, Texas. It is held in the Coker United Methodist Church. The festival had its 40th annual in March this year. The choirs that sing there are judged. Many people are invited to see the festival of singing.

15: Navasota Blues Fest Blues Festival | The Navasota Blues Fest takes place every year in Navasota, Texas in the Grimes Expo Center. Last year, it was on August 13 th and 14th. The first festival was held in May, 1996. The festival’s purpose was not only to keep blues music alive, but also to bring local citizens together for an annual celebration. It was founded for a man named Mance Lipscomb, a Navasota songster.

16: Old Settlers Festival Blues Festival | Old Settler's Music Festival is in Austin,Texas. It features Grammy winning Americana, arts and crafts, camping, food and libations. It plays acoustic jazz and blues, bluegrass, and old-time local favorites. It also features award-winning artists from around the world. This year it will be held on Sunday, October 16th.

17: Poker Face Pop Song | The song Poker Face by Lady Gaga relates to Texas because it has the word "Texas" in it, referring to Texas Hold 'em Poker. The song is about having a "poker face" about life, meaning that one should contain one's inner emotions, and let an unreadable personality remain on the outside. Lady Gaga, ever since she was little, has a very unique personality, singing wherever she went. Even today, her distinctive personality remains, except more in the form of bizarre dresses rather than holding a bread-stick in the air as a baton. Some of her dresses have been made of meat, post-it notes, and even Kermit the Frogs!

18: Dan Quinn Band Country Band | Dan Quinn has made the Dallas and Fort Worth area his home. Dan is a solo performer who has been entertaining fun people for almost 10 years. He is a multi-instrumented act. He has donated a lot of his earnings to charity. His trademark is his white sunglasses.

19: Dewey Redman Jazz Artist | Dewey Redman lived in Fort Worth, Texas. He was an American jazz saxophonist. He died on September 2, 2006. He was 75. He has a dozen recordings. Following his bachelor's degree, Redman served two-years in the US Army.

20: Selena Gomez Pop Artist | Selena lived in Grand Prairie, Texas.Mandy, her mom, gave birth to Selena at 16. Her parents divorced in 1997. Selena is best known for her role as Alex Russo in the show 'Wizards Of Waverly Place' and as Mary in 'Another Cinderella Story'. Selena signed a record deal with Hollywood Records just before her 16th birthday.

21: Texas, Our Texas Traditional Song | Texas, Our Texas is the official state song of Texas. It was adopted by the Legislature in 1929 after being selected in a state-wide competition. It was composed by William J. Marsh of Fort Worth. The lyrics were written by Marsh and Gladys Yoakum Wright.The song is comprised of three verses and a chorus.

22: UT Jazz Orchestra Jazz Orchestra (Band) | The UT Jazz Orchestra is at the University of Texas at Austin. Its conductor is Professor Jeff Hellmer. The orchestra has performed with many people, such as Michael Brecker, Phil Woods, Bob Brookmeyer, Conrad Herwig, and James Moody. If one wants admission, they have to audition. Its members often write its performed compositions.

23: Vegan Carnivores Rock Band | The Vegan Carnivores is a band formed in Austin, Texas. It consists of three people. These three people are Kaylin Strain, Peyton Button, and Bailey Smith. The song “Bloody Sparkles” is their first and only song so far. They have been a band since May, 2011.

24: Willie Nelson `Country Artist | He was born in 1933 in Abbott, Texas. He is a country crossover star known for his classic ballads, autobiographical road songs and catchy rhythms. His mother abandoned the family. Willie was handed his first guitar at age six. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1993.

25: SXSW Festival Hip-Hop Festival | The South by Southwest Festival, otherwise known as SXSW, is a music festival held in Austin, Texas. It plays a wide variety of music, including hip-hop. The first festival was held in 1987. The purpose of SXSW was to bring people from around the States and world together, Austin being such an isolated city. The festival appealed to many very soon.

26: Yellow Rose of Texas Traditional Song | The Yellow Rose of Texas is associated with Texas because, of course, of its name. The song’s first recorded copy was handwritten on a piece of plain paper circa 1836. It was probably written near the time that Sam Houston died. The song is about a man who left his love and came back to her. Her name was Rose, a common female name of the time.

27: Zilker Park Classical Venue | Zilker Park is a metropolitan park in Austin, Texas. At Austin City Limits, which takes place in Zilker Park, there are live performances of a wide variety of music, including classical music. At the Zilker Summer Musical and Shakespeare, many musicals occur. Other than musical festivals, the park is the location for a lot of other events, such as the annual kite flying festival. It is considered to be Austin’s most loved park.
