FC: Warsaw Ghetto by Preston Carswell
I chose this topic because I had heard stories through the years about the hatred towards Jews. I wanted to know more about their capture and treatment.
I believe " Warsaw Ghetto " had something to do with the war, because we are studying this in school. i actually knew nothing about the " Warsaw Ghetto " until we started this project.
The first question that ran through my head was " What was Warsaw Ghetto "?
 - Alienation by Hitler of all the Jewish population. -Ghetto is an area in which Nazi's confined the Jews, usually in center city. -The Warsaw Ghetto was the largest Ghetto in Nazi occupied Europe. - It was located in the territory of General Govermment in occupied Poland's capital city, Warsaw. - It housed Jews waiting for extermination for nearly a year and a half in harsh conditions. -Disease and starvation ran rapid. - General Frank Harris ordered the Jews to go to the Ghetto. -Established October 16,1940 and ended January 4,1945.
My Second Question was...What was life like in the Ghetto ?
 - Confined in an area of less than 3 square miles -Cramped with over 400,000 people -Starvation and disease ran rapid -By April 1941 6000 people were dying per month -Wall was 3.5 m high and topped with barbed wire -Poor sanitary conditions -Young children would smuggle in food from the outside -Average food ration was 220 calories per day
The Third question was, What was the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising?
-An uprising came forth in 1943. -It was Jewish resistance of the Nazi effort to transport the remaining Jews to the extermination camp Treblinka. -It was the largest single revolt by the Jews the entire Holocaust. -55,000 Jews were remaining for the revolt -Jews built underground bunkers and tunnels -Got weapons from outside Nazi factories -Ended on May 15, 1943
My conclusion of the Warsaw ghetto is that the Warsaw ghetto was a city in Poland that the Nazi's used to murder and killed defenseless Jews. It was completely racist and utterly ridiculous.
What I learned most about this process was how to research better. There is a lot of information on the Internet but I never realized there so many articles on this subject. Mixbook helped me organize my work so I could transfer it to my paper.
This process has also taught me a lot about the Holocaust and the harsh treatment of Jews. It has made me realize how lucky I am.
