FC: Who Am I? | By: Erica Schreiber

Table Of Contents | 1. Symbols 2. Values and Norms 3. Material Culture 4. Representation of Me

Symbols | We are a very close family and always have each others backs. When ever one of the members of my family needs something, there is always another member of the family helping out. This goes for both my immediate family and also the rest of the family | The heart represents the love that is present within my family. Everyone cares for everyone and no one is left behind.

Family | The number one represents the fact that family comes first. We are expected to put family before friends and be there for each other when needed. | Schreibers are known for being athletic, especially in baseball. The baseball represents our love for sports and something that brings us closer together.

Values | Religion is something my family, especially my dad, values. We have been going to church since I was very little and it is something that continues to be important today. | Trust is something that is really important to my family, so honesty is a value that is shared. We all have my parents trust until we get caught lying. Once we are caught lying, all trust is lost.

Norms | It is expected that every Sunday we have to eat dinner as a family. My mom makes a big meal and we are not allowed to do anything else. We must be home for dinner on Sunday. | It is expected that we show up to all family get togethers unless we have a good excuse. We are not allowed to skip family get togethers to hang out with friends. However, there is not excuse to miss the family reunion that is July 4th every year.

Material Culture | My clothing style is more athletic. I like to wear clothes that are comfortable such as baggy sweatshirts, jeans, or sweatpants. | My car is a material item that defines who I am. I am unorganized which is represented through my car. I also use my car to get everywhere.

Technology | My cell phone is a big part of who I am. I bring it everywhere with me and I use it a lot. I use it to stay in contact with friends and family, check Facebook and emails, and for entertainment through games, Youtube clips, and news. | My laptop holds all the projects, word documents, and any other school document that I had to create over the past year. It also holds all my music and some of my favorite movies.

Family | Hobbies | Both members from my mom's side and dad's side immigrated to America from Germany and Poland | Swimming and hanging out with friends

Likes | Dislikes | Reading, camping, and volunteering for BEAMINGS Therapeutic Horse Ranch | Mushrooms, spiders, and heights
