1: Clara Barton was the founder of the Red Cross. She thought it would be helpful for people who were hurt. During her acts of kindness she was called the Angel of the Battlefield by the people she helped and their family. | Clara Barton
2: Mary Todd Lincoln | Mary Todd Lincoln was married to one of the presidents named, Abe Lincoln. She had a family of boys, and reduced circumstances to the pleasure-loving girl . When Abe was assassinated, Mary's heart sank. What would she do with a dead husband and son! Soon after she traveled with one of her sons named Tad. Soon after Tad died and Mary was all alone. a lot of things happened in Mary's life but soon after she was reunited with her family when she passed away.
3: Barbara Frietchie | Barbara, is the name of a woman who maybe acted bravely to protect the Union flag against Confederate soldiers in 1862.. She had a motto that stated, "Shoot if you must this old grey head, But spare your country's flag," she said.

6: Have you ever wondered how they cured cuts and broken bones during the Civil War? Well, they used to wrap the cut or broken bone in corn husks. The corn husks was like a walking-cast, you could still walk and fight with it on. | Medicine in the Civil War
7: Have you ever wondered how they made aspirin back then? Well, they used tree bark and leaves to make the aspirin so people will feel better. This medicine often cured head-aches, pains in your body, and injuries. | How did they make aspirin?
8: Did you know that during the Civil War medical surgeons traveled in tents with the soldiers? Do you know who the first Medical Surgeon was? Well, his name is Dr. David C. Deleon. He was later replaced by Dr. Charles H. Smith. From March 1861-1863, Surgeon General Moore served as a medical director of all field and general hospitals during the Civil War. | Who were the first surgeons and what did they do?

12: Clara was born on twenty-fifth in 1821, Oxford Massachusetts. Her father was Stephen Barton. His was a farmer and a state legislator. He served under General Anthony Wayne in the revolution. When Clara turned fifteen she started teaching children. In eighteen fifty she moved to Boardtown, New Jersey. She didn't teach many students. She then resigned from the school when a man was put above her. She then suffered from nervous illness disguise. Clara lived an exciting childhood!
13: Clara Barton was a big help at Antietam! She gave a lot of bandages to the surgeons. Then she got down to work well bullets flew over her head. She would help wounded soldiers by cradling them in her arms. Then she would make food for wounded in barns. When she knelt down to give a man a drink she noticed a hole in her selves, and saw the man was dead. She moved on helping soldiers.After a few days she finally collapsed from lack of sleep, and typed fever.
14: When the Civil War ended in eighteen sixty-five Clara was in her mid-forty. She had given up three years to the civil. She had fought on the front line, helping the wounded soldiers. She started her mission of mercy. She started the Office of Correspondence with Friends of Missing Men of the United States Army! She did many missing list for the soldiers who never returned. If Clara never helped we might of lost the Civil War!
