Harlem Renaissance | The Harlem Renaissance was a period of great happiness for the Black society. They were "reborn" into very artistic and sophisticated people. This era of greatness was caused by the Great Migration and spanned through the 1920's and 30's.
Louis Armstrong | Louis Armstrong's early life was not the "average" tale of childhood. He was very poor and went through both physical and emotional deprivation. However, he used his unfortunate past as an artistic outlet for the future, “Every time I close my eyes blowing that trumpet of mine—I look right in the heart of good old New Orleans...It has given me something to live for.”
The Early Life of Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong | Fun Fact: Louis believed, his entire life he was born July 4, 1900. But, in truth he was born on August 4, 1901.
Hello Dolly Shot in 1969, it is the story of a matchmaker seeking a little love for herself. Armstrong plays a singer in the baned.
Ella and Louis Again The sequel to their album Ella and Louis. It was made in 1957. | What a Wonderful World Recorded in 1968, this is one of his most popular songs.
The Lasting Impact of the Harlem Renaissance- The Harlem Renaissance brought a change in culture and style that will always be remembered. New artists, musicians, and writers of the Black race were emerging everywhere. This caused a change in equality forever because, during this time African Americans began recognizing their equality with Whites.. I believe the whole world gained something whether it was opportunities or ideas and beliefs.
