3: The Power of Fifty Turning fifty is a wonderful thing, Take a look at what your life had to bring. You've laughed a lot and cried a little too And of the hard times we're sure they were a few! You've fallen and stood right back on your feet And many good people you've had the pleasure to meet. You've worked very hard and played a lot too Greg, there's not too many people that can do what you do. There are so many people around you that care, And hope at your one hundredth they will be there. In your first fifty years you've done some incredible things. But we can't wait to see what the next fifty brings! In your first fifty years you've done some incredible things, But we can't wait to see what the next fifty brings!

I remember when I was in second grade, my teacher said I needed to be on medication, then you started praying with me. Every morning you would call me while you were on the road at 6:30am to pray, and I have been fine every since. My best memories are when you and I went to New York to see the Yankees, and our father and son road trip to see the Sports Hall of Fame. Happy 50th Birthday Dad Love J.R.

From our childhood days good and bad, I have seen you achieve and accomplish many things, from getting married, receiving your degrees, and not letting the lost of your arm stop you from reaching your goals. You have such a tremedous love for your family, and are such a proud father, I can still see the smile on you face when Aquisha got married.
21: Happy 50th Birthday May the Lord continue to bless you and your family Love, Brian and Shirley

31: Every since I could pronouce the word friend Greg was there. I have basically tolerated him for over 45 years (smile). I will always remember that wirey, high-energy, type A personality kid that resided directly across the street. Greg has always had a nack for mischief. Our firendship through-out the years has grown stronger as we have endured tragedy and triump together. Though we are close in age, in kindergarten they put Greg back because he was born after October 1st. It took him a while to get over that, but every since then I have looked at him as my crazy little brother, and I do mean brother. Greg is close to me like blood. Though we may not have always ran in the same circles we would always find a way to unite. If we din't hear from one another in a while we would always give a curtesy call just to check in. Thats a true friend. Greg has a lot of great virtues but patience ain't one of them. Greg's birthday is on December 31st, he couldn't even wait until the next year to be born. Greg is truly one of my hero's. I have never seen an individual persevere through adversity better than my boy Greg. I have seen Greg grow spiritually and it's been a beautiful site to see. Today, I really enjoy Greg's company socially, recreationally and as a spirtual brother and I hope we can continue for many years to come. Mark Ricks
32: Greg amd I were first introduced on a baseball field, actually a parking lot, in the early 1970's by our older brothers Brian and Maurice. Greg you are my best friend, you were the best man in my wedding, and the God Father to my sons, and most of all you are my brother. When I think of your greatest quality (competitiveness) I am reminded of Albert Hughes, a basketball coach we had in high school. I'd like to say thank you Greg, for being there through the good times and the bad times. I Love you man! Happy 50th Birthday Fred (Spud)

35: As I sit here trying to think of something good to say about this brother, I find myself at a loss (just kidding). Greg and I met about 26 years ago. Although we knew of each other and all the same people, we were never really close until one day at work in the lunch room. We were both working at Talman Home Savings and Loan at the time. A water pipe busted at my house in Michigan and I had no way to get up there to fix it. I guess he noticed me sitting there in distress and came over and asked me what was wrong. When I told him, he didn't hesitate to offer his assistance. That was the first time anyone had even cared enough to ask. Needless to say that was the beginning of a friendship that has lasted over 20 something years. Greg and I don't always agree, but we have always respected each others opinion. If we always agreed we wouldn't be the good friends we are today. He's a pain in the ass but that's what comes along with being a good friend. We have helped each other over the years in too many ways to mention. So to one of my best friends in life, Happy 50th Birthday! and may God bless you with many more. Mark J. France
37: I met Greg in 1977 at Lincoln College. One day while in the dorm Greg was complaining about how unhappy he was with his roommate, and I too was unhappy with my roommate. The two roommates were both acutually disgusting individuals. Well Greg and I both being from Chicago, had a lot in common, so Greg came up with this great idea that we should become roommates and put our two roomates together, I thought this was brillant. So, immediately while they were in class we moved my roommate's stuff into Greg's old room and Greg moved in with me. Needless to say when our two roommates got out of class and we broke the news to them that they were now roommates, they didn't like it but it was a decision that had to be made! From that point on Greg and I have been best of friends for over 30 years. Greg, I wish so much that I could be there on your 50th birthday. Wow this is a wonderfuld day! May the next 50 years be even better than the first. Love you Bro, and May God bless you and your Family. Harry Kendall
