FC: The Great Depression
1: It was not just one thing that caused the Great Depression, but a combination of different things. The Great Depression was an after effect of the Stock Market crash of 1929, as well as a result of 9,000 banks failing. The Great Depression was the result of reduced purchasing and productivity, as well as an American Economic Policy with Europe. It was also indirectly linked to drought conditions.
2: The Great Depression lasted ten years. Life during the great depression was unbelievably hard. Many farmers lost their farms, droughts created Dust Bowls which made it so crops could not grow, many people had to move to California to get new jobs, and many still ended up homeless.
3: Everyone in America was affected by the Great Depression, which is why many people moved to look for jobs. However, even people in other countries felt the sting of the Great Depression. The Great Depression ended after Franklin Delano Roosevelt created new agencies to create new jobs in 1932, but unemployment was still in double digits until 1941.
