1: The Great Depression: The Beginning | The Great Depression started on October 29, 1929 when the Stock Market Crashed on what was to become known as "Black Tuesday". After the stock market crashed everyone tried to sell their stocks and were in a complete panic. The more people panicked the worse conditions became. Banks had to close their doors because mobs of people showed up demanding the withdrawal of their money from the banks. Businesses then began to feel the pinch because people quit spending money out of fear. This led businesses to close or to lay off workers or cut the hours of the workers. | STOCK MARKET CRASHES!

Food became scarce for everyone. | Dust Bowls
