 { | { | LOVE

so many | Each memory we keep with care means future happiness to share.

LIVE WELL LAUGH OFTEN LOVE MUCH | When I think of you Mother, I think of a quiet storm. You seem to always be in motion. You really love your children and grandchildren with a determination that is unwaivering. You truly support your children. You seem to understand what each of us needs and you deliver that special mothering to each of us individually. It is a technique that I use professionally and personally. Love you Quiet Storm! 8: Dear Mom, Thank you for opening your heart to me. Through your love, thoughtfulness, patience and warmth, you have constantly shown me that I truly have a second mother. Exziyah and I appreciate all that you are and all that you do. You have been a tremendous inspiration and blessing in our lives. No one can deny that you have a true mother's heart and a genuine selfless spirit that extends not only to your family but to your friends and community as well. May God continue to richly bless you. We love you dearly. - Tameka and Exziyah

 MOM

Mama, The first thing I want you to know is that I love you dearly. I have so many memories of you and there are two that stand out to me. The first one is when I was in middle school and I had to memorize a reading for English class. The reading was of French origin and we were headed to Lewisville. You asked me what I was working on, I showed you and you started speaking the reading from memory. I was excited you knew it. You encouraged me and told me that I can have the reading memorized by the next day and I did. I never told you this but I remember thinking that I couldn’t let my mom beat me and not memorize the reading. I also remember how proud I was of you and how I realized then how intelligent you are. The next thing I remember was when I was a senior in high school and my first VW bug caught on fire while I was on my way home one night. | Well, the next morning before you went to work, you came into my room, next to the bed and asked me if I was okay. I remember saying that I didn’t have a car and what was I going to do. You immediately told me that the car was replaceable but I wasn’t. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to embrace the best of you. I thought that you missed out on so much in life but I now know that you haven’t missed out on anything. You haven’t because as long as you’re alive, God is filling you with more than you can imagine. You haven’t missed out on anything because your children and grandchildren are direct extensions of you. We live, breathe, exist, accomplish and love because of who you are. Mama you are a wealth of love and I pray that you enjoy your 60th birthday. Happy Birthday Mama, Love O.J.

Dear Mommy, I would often wish you could’ve fulfilled some of your dreams and aspirations in life, but now I realize you have. When I would ask you why you didn’t do something else, you said you have, you raised us. Thank you mama, really, thanks to you! You were right about everything and I thank you for instilling in me that I have worth. Thank you for spending those long days and nights in the hospital with this light bulb head baby.

I don’t know if I would’ve made it without you. I can’t begin to imagine what that experience must have been like for you. But I am forever grateful for your faith in God, which has allowed me to see 25. I know you constantly pray for my well-being and safety and those prayers are what keep me stronger. Thank you. Thank you mama for being what I hope to be one day: a wonderful and supportive wife, adoring yet firm mother and awesome grandmother. You never gave up on me mama and I appreciate how you raised me. I know growing up I wasn’t always the best child and we bumped heads a lot but these last few years I have grown to appreciate you not only as my mother but as a woman. You are strong and loving, also very devoted to your family still. Even though we are all grown now I cherish the advice you continue to give me. I know I don’t always tell you thank you, so now, I give you thanks and praises for teaching me how to be a woman. Now I know I said I wouldn’t do it, but I guess I can fix my husband’s plate one day! I sit here reminiscing over all that we have been through mama and there’s no way I could pay you back but my plan is to show you that I understand. I love you mommy. Happy 60th birthday, I hope to look as good as you do one day! Love you Mommy, Tia
