Dear Expectant One, We are Zachary, Rachel, Gavin and Garrett and we are excited to share this letter with you. We are a down-to-earth family who loves the outdoors that is ready to expand by adding the missing piece to our puzzle, a baby girl. We can not imagine how difficult this must be for you and we admire your courage to consider our family. Our desire is to provide an endless supply of love, guidance, security and happiness to this special little one. After the tough journey we faced with infertility we came to understand that having any other biological children was not the plan that God had for us to follow. Knowing that our family would become complete through the amazing journey of adoption has given us a renewed joy and excitement. We look forward to completing this journey with you, and hope that there are many new memories made for the future! With all our love, The Mitchell’s
We met in December of 1998 at the church we both attended in Texas. We were both young but knew that we had encountered something special. Our first date we spent walking around a mall trying to find a Christmas gift for one of our moms. We were instantly glued together because we never spent a day apart after that. On our one month anniversary Zachary proposed and the simple little word "YES" was what has lead to a our lifetime together. We married on December 18th 1999 and have never looked back since. Having been together for 13 years and married for 12 years life has taught us many lessons with the biggest one being with our solid foundation in Christ and leaning completely on each other we can make it through anything. After growing up in Texas we felt a strong pull to leave everything that was familiar to us and move to Montgomery AL. We ended up moving in August of 2006 to help our Dad plant RiversEdge Church. God has shown us so many great things through uncharted territory of a new church plant. Zachary works as the General manager of Magic Pawn Prattville and Montgomery while Rachel stays home and home schools both of the "Fellas". | Where It All Began
The Story of Zachary I was born in 1979 in Weatherford Texas. It was a sleepy little country town just west of Fort Worth. Being raised as a 4th generation pastors son I had the opportunity to grow up in a grounded and close knit family. My parents have always been supportive loving and the go to people in my life when I have needed advice and wisdom with the decisions that have to be made. I have an older brother named Jonathan who gave me that built in friend that helped me learn what loyalty and friendship were all about. For most of my life I lived in a little town by the name of Farmersville in Texas and knew most of the people around me. I played football from elementary school through high school and now during football season you can find me sitting in my favorite recliner watching the Dallas Cowboys if I'm not out in the woods. I love to hunt, fish, play golf, travel and most of all spend time with Rach and the "fellas".
The Story of Rachel I was born December 26, 1981 and my life has been full of all kinds of celebrations! Being born the day after Christmas is fun because no one ever forgets my birthday. I was born in Fort Worth Texas and raised about an hour north of Dallas in Lewisville Texas. I grew up playing basketball, volleyball and softball. Even though my parents don't live down the street from me at this point in my life they are always a phone call away. Moving away from Texas was tough but I knew that God had plans for us in Montgomery AL and we needed to walk those plans out. My family is close and we make trips back to Texas quite often to spend time with GiGi(my mom) and my extended family. I love that I get to do my favorite things of hunting and fishing with my "Fellas" and if you can't find me anywhere else I'm probably sitting in the tub with a good book! My greatest joy is being able to spend everyday with my boys teaching and imparting into them all about life while homeschooling. That was the best decision that we made together as a family because not only do we get to be our children's teacher but we also get to watch them grow and mature without missing out on the little things.
Gavin was born in 2002 and was the best gift that God could have ever blessed us with. Starting out we didn't know if God was going to allow him to stay with us because he was born with Group B Strep infection and spent two weeks in the NICU. He came home completely healed and we have never been the same since! He has such a big heart and is deeply compassionate and sensitive to other people around him. Being quick witted he keeps us on our toes! He loves math and being in a tree. He holds the record for tree climbing with all of his cousins and friends, has taught his little brother everything he knows and can't wait to teach his little sister too! Gavin loves to visit new places, fish, hunt and go to storage auctions with Daddy to discover new treasures
Garrett is our miracle! Thinking that we would not be able to have any more biological children God blessed us unexpectedly with him.. He was born in 2005 completely healthy and full of life. He is a ham! His favorite thing to do is dance and make others laugh. If Garrett isn't in the building there is a little something that is missing from the party. He has a tough strong outlook on life and loves to do Karate and play football. He loves his yearly tradition of going to the Monster Truck Rally with Daddy and Bubba. with Grave Digger being his favorite truck. Most evenings Garrett's favorite thing to do is cuddle up on the couch with Momma or Daddy after dinner and watch his favorite T.V. shows which is "Storage Wars" or anything about monster trucks or playing the Xbox. His biggest dream is to be a monster truck driver and a police officer
Madelise Anne In 2003 we where blessed with our little girl Madelise. All though she did not stay with us for very long she made an impact on everyone she touched. She was born at 25 weeks with birth defects caused by a bacterial infection. She lived for 1hr and 10min and passed away in her daddy's arms. Over the past 9 years God has allowed us to experience a peace that only He can give, unconditional love from our family and friends, and a strength that we never knew we had. We both learned the meaning of our marriage vows; we learned how to stick together to make it through our toughest journey. That journey still continues as we have taken on the mission to help other families find their way through the loss of their children. Our faith was tested our strength stretched and our love became a deep ocean that is never ending for one another through our baby girls short life.
We love to be outdoors and enjoying the sunshine. We swim We hunt We fish We also have a backyard garden that we enjoy watching things grow in

The Picken's Paul and Aaron. Anna and Katie Aaron and Katie are our God children and Anna and Paul are some of our closest friends. Anna and I refer to each other as sisters more than friends because that's what we really are...we are family
Mike and Lori Phillips are Anna's mom and dad, we are all very close and it's as if I have 2 sets of parents...my biological family and my adopted family. They pastor the same church that Zachary grew up in when his dad was a pastor in Texas. They are people that we can go to for advice and will give us honest and supportive wisdom for what ever life throws at us.

Dear Sweet Baby, I am sitting here thinking about all the possibilities I don't know anything about you yet. It makes no difference to me though. I just want you. I sit quietly wondering what you will be like, what you will sound like, what your personality will be. Will you be red headed and blue eyed like your big brother Garrett or brown headed like Daddy Gavin and I. Either way, I know you are going to be beautiful because God made you in His eyes, and soon to be ours, you are perfect. Who are you Little One? Do you like sports or music? Will you be a writer or a doctor or a great statesman? Will you be laughing all the time or making others laugh or will you be serious and pensive, contemplating the deep things of life? All I know is that I want you to live to the fullest potential you have. BE all that God created you to be. My greatest desire for you is that you will surpass us in knowledge and desire for the Presence of the Lord. For me as a mother, I will have done my job if you serve the Lord with passion and fervor. You will be His ambassador, whether in the work place as a lawyer, a doctor, a teacher, a statesman or in the ministry as a pastor, prophet, apostle, evangelist, or a teacher of the Word. I make a promise that we will train and release you into your calling when that day comes. You will speak the Word of God and see it come to pass in your life. With every thought of you, prayers have come out of our hearts asking God to keep you safe no matter where you are on the journey of adoption. Our greatest desire is for you to have the Daddy of Daddies, God Almighty as your Father. You are a very blessed child to have two parents that love you and two big brothers that can not wait to teach you so many new things. We feel so honored to be called your parents. My heart longs for that moment just about as much as we long to see our Savior's face. I love you so much already, even though I don't know where you are or even if you are conceived yet. My love grows deeper for you each day. Please come home to me soon, Precious One. I love you. Love you Baby, Momma and Daddy Mitchell
