1: The corner stone of the family, A tower of respect and admiration. Lovingly cherished by his family. Through his words of wisdom and encouragement, His children grow in knowledge and are blessed to have him. Exercising his right of authority to maintain peace, balance and harmony. Guiding and instructing his little ones. Sacrificing his life for family. Providing shelter and sustenance so that all may survive. He contemplates and marvels at his greatest achievement, A family, the monument to his life. A great treasure without measure. Protecting, caring and nurturing his greatest asset for the benefit of his lineage. Making sure that all is safe. Till he takes his last breath. Our friend, Our father, He is our Dad. | He is our Dad

6: From "Lift me up daddy! Let me see what you see!" Through the teen-age tears of "You don't understand me!" And now how the years have really flown Your first born married, with a child of my own. There have been words unsaid through the lives we've lead. Yet the stories we've told as our life lessons unfold! The "tell me no" - I would find a way "and watch me go" - do it anyway! I got that from you in your persistent ways of dealing with life come what may. The tender hearted warrior, the truth in your eyes you've passed this onto your children and onto our children's lives. The true character of a man that we've been shown the reflection of your soul as we have grown. You've taught us to live our lives and run our own race, for in the end it's God we face. We appreciate all that you have done & all that you do! Thanks for the memories, we look forward to many, many more! Love you the mostest! Coeurine, Brad & your grandson Gabriel
8: FATHER & SON | “What Makes A Dad” God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night, The wisdom of the ages, The power of the Eagle's flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, He called it....DAD! --Author Unknown

18: Daddy's Little Girl! So many years ago you married the woman of your dreams- And started a life you always dreamt it would be— You moved to Alaska and built a house that you would call your home- And added to a family that had already been grown— Another Son, whom inherited your ears and hair- But also another Daughter whom inherited her Mother’s looks and beautiful stare— But not so long ago GOD took her unexpectedly- And I always fear that the same will happen to me— I cherish the days when we spend time together- Wish it were more, than almost never— Most importantly, that if it wasn’t for you- I would never have become the best of ME! **July 2011 -- Jennifer Jean (Wrede) Wolf

26: Dear Uncle Ed... Where in the heck do the years go??? I have some really cool memories of you... unfortunately not many pictures... But the memories that I do have are embedded into my heart forever...and as I get older some have faded slowly! I remember you being in the service and coming home on leave to visit us on the farm... I remember Mom making you God only knows how many pancakes for breakfast... You and Pop were the perfect match... two jokesters... the both of you could tell jokes for hours and hours... not to mention the crazy things you both did... never a dull moment when Uncle Ed was around! I so clearly remember when we had a snowball fight on the farm and you hit me in the eye... I saw stars for quite some time after that... although, it never stopped me from participating in such exciting events... again, never a dull moment when Uncle Ed was around! You, Pop and the Randolph gang. IE: Uncle Junior, Chet Hugg, and a conglomerate of additional Randolph cronies going hunting, fishing and just hanging out in Pop's garage sharing hunting, fishing and family stories... what a wonderful time that all was... for all of us... I still maintain the picture of "Hawkeye" that you gave me... you remember the horse that I bought at the age of 12... I cherish that picture... God we looked like refugees, but damn we were happy... just didn't realize what a wonderful childhood I had until I got older... I miss those days- I miss the farm, I miss my Dad everyday... I know he loved you Uncle Ed... I know Uncle George did too... He was just different... not a "country boy" .. but a good guy... And I know they are both present for your 75th birthday... we'll have to look for the rainbow today... We are here to celebrate this most special time with our "Special Uncle" and wish you continued health and happiness... you have wonderful children and wonderful beautiful grandchildren... what else could anyone ask for as we continue our God given journey in this life? I truly wish you the best... Happy 75th Uncle Ed... God Bless You this day and forever Luv you much,Your niece, Pat
27: Happy Birthday Ed, Hard to believe that my Dad's "kid brother" "Sonny" is 75. An Ironia boy who I am sure that if the old timers like Chet Hugg, Ray Polwin, Joe Holnack, Ollie Roesing, Lester Bonnell, Corson Albertson, "Ham" Wrede, Bill Crowley and the others were still here would tell you how they are so proud of the man you have become, the great family you now have and what you have accomplished over those 75 years. As for me and the Wrede clan here I can't even begin to tell you how proud my Dad was of you or how much we admired and loved you and your family.... Or how excited he ( and we ) was when you called from some far away land when you were in the service... didn't matter if he was in the back part of the farm... He would come rushing in to talk to you when Mom let him know you were on the phone. It made his day every time you called... And the kids usually sat in the kitchen listening to you two talk and through those conversations heard about places far from Ironia. Places like Iceland, Germany, Vietnam, Illinois, Alaska and more.... The visits from you and family, well, that was even better.. We also laughed a lot when Dad shared stories about you and his antics such as Chet Huggs cuckoo clock, the nasty colonel who kept losing his lures as he was fishing in Iceland... A young Ed Wrede swimming in the black river grabbing onto water snakes and tossing them onto beaches where the New York City visitors would congregate and the havoc that ensued, Mrs. Kinney and much more.... Then there are my own memories such as my stay on the farm that you rented when stationed at McGuire AFB and first visit to a PX to buy a nice fishing rod... I believe I was about 10 years old... Also remember trout fishing in India Brook and watching you catch native trout by hand! And getting shot in the ass by you when you convinced me and a couple of my young teenage buddies to have a "war" with you at Dad's place... We were armed with firecrackers .... you with a bb gun. Hmmmm ( member that... you were up in a damn maple tree by the back of the house and we couldn't find you ) .. Oh and you won.. ( Hahahahha) .. You, Ham, Pop and Chet sitting in the kitchen telling jokes and just BSing... Oh the laughter I heard... and I can still hear! How about the hot blue Chevelle (I think) you had? I can remember me holding onto the seat for dear life as we literally lifted off the road as you flew up Golf Course road... my visit in '78 and the bear at Skilak Lake, the sawed off pistol site and on and on... Great stuff and great memories. Thanks Ed... Blessed to have you in my life. With much Love, Wal
31: I have so many good memories locked in my soul. Brother Wally has pretty much wrapped it all up. The love and pride my Dad and all of us have for Uncle Ed is unmeasurable. So much love and laughter to reflect on, so many good memories to pass on to the next generation, and a love of family that runs so very strong... We are all so blessed. Looking forward to hanging out and catching up with all. The countdown is on! Love , Diana & Dave

37: Swiftly the years have passed on by And often I say with a sigh Four little ones to us were given And feelings of pride and happiness had risen We had no way of knowing the love our hearts could hold Even when so often, by others we were told Our memories are often not the same But I'm still blessed to have taken your name Happy 75th Nancy | Memories Are Made of This
38: We still are pretty good at what we do, no matter our age. We are just made of tough stuff, so keep on strutting your stuff!!! Mucho Hugs Maxine Vehlow
39: Happy 75th Birthday Ed I got there before you and celebrated for both of us. We had a great time getting here eh.
40: It was the saddest day of our lives to see you pass, the thought still brings tears to our eyes. The absence of you here with us leaves a void that dwarfs the universe that can never be filled again. Your challenges are over, and you have succeeded. You have given us hope to persevere until our burdens are taken from us.
41: The climb to the top of the mountain was solemn, each of us carrying our own cross. The last time we touched you, and cast you to the winds lifted out the sorrow of our hearts, and warmed our spirits. We placed you to rest, where we could always look up at you and smile. And you can always look down at us and know you will always be loved.
