BC: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 A Time for Everything "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die...a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance...a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to love...and a time for peace." | With Love & Prayers, Cara & Danon

1: Hello! Wow...we are glad you are reading our letter! We think of you often, and what you might be going through. You have our prayers for your future and for that of your child, no matter what your decision. We want you to know that you truly have our highest respect and esteem for loving this child and carefully making plans for their future as well as your own. We’ve always wanted children in our lives, ever since we began dating in 1993. Whether it was nieces and nephews or kids at church, we feel our lives are at their fullest when little ones are around. We are both 39 years old and cannot wait to create the same kind of faith and joy-filled life that our parents gave to us! It doesn’t matter what method God uses to give us a child; we’ll be thrilled when it happens. We have good friends who have adopted, and are honored to be a witness to the amazing relationships they have. We met for the first time in August 1992 at our college picnic. Danon proposed to Cara onstage at play rehearsal. We were married the day after Christmas 1993. Christmas vacation is always a wonderful time, with the holidays and celebrating our wedding anniversary. We have now been married almost 18 years! Danon is a Federal Police Officer, in training and public relations. A few nights a week he teaches theatre to young students. He is an active member of his Masonic Lodge and community. At the Thanksgiving Banquet of 2010, Danon was even awarded "Mason of the Year" of his Lodge. Cara sees glimmers of the wonderful father in Danon as he interacts with our young family members and friends, his students, and even our dogs. She can't wait for our child to grow to laugh at Daddy's "silly laugh" and to roll their eyes at his goofy jokes! Cara is the Receptionist at a large firm where she is "the face of the firm." She is often unofficially called "the best Receptionist in town” because of how she treats people with kindness and respect. She loves serving and spent three years as a Crisis Pregnancy Center Hotline volunteer. She also loves entertaining, both in our home and elsewhere.
2: Cara founded and ran a dance ministry for 8 years at our old church. She is a classically trained singer, dancer, and actress. Cara loves any event which involves dressing up and eating cake. Weddings are her favorite! She can’t wait to take maternity leave to be with our child. We have a happy home in a suburb of Kansas City. We play games, listen to music and sing, cook meals, and watch movies. Danon has recently remodeled both bathrooms and the kitchen floor. We live a few blocks from a park with a walking trail and playground, perfect for pets and children. We have 3 small dogs, Twinkie, Jeremy and Scrappy. They are very social creatures and enjoy playing with each other, other animals and children. Our Christian faith is extremely important to us in every aspect of our lives. We attend Redeemer Presbyterian every week. There is an excellent school connected to the Church which is a great option for our child's education. We also belong to a Home Group which meets at the Pastor's home every other week for in depth Bible study and life application. Both of our families are beyond excited for us to adopt a child! Danon’s mom, dad, and step-mom live across the state, but make the trip over to see us as much as possible. Adoption is no stranger to the family, as Danon's dad adopted his first wife's 2 kids.
3: Danon is one of 4 siblings, half of whom live across the state. Danon’s big brother lives near us and often has big gatherings at his farm. Cara is one of 5 siblings, and her parents live in the same house she grew up in. They live nearby and plan on helping to care for the baby. There are frequent family gatherings for birthdays and holidays. Cara was an aunt at the age of 2, and Danon was an uncle at the age of 14. As a result, there have always been kids of all ages around us. We have lots of experience babysitting, caring for, teaching, and ministering to children in many different ways. Cara was a nanny all 4 summers of high school. As a cop, Danon is specially trained in infant and child CPR and first aid. We are godparents to some of our friends’ children. It will be awesome to put these skills to use on our own child! Thank you for reading our letter. We are praying for you and want you to know you are not alone in this world. You are an amazing human being, undertaking this important job of finding a family for your child. You will always have our admiration for your sacrifice. We would welcome any opportunity to speak with you about adopting your child.
