FC: Family Memories 2010-2011 Jake 1-2y Drew pregnancy & birth
August 2010-July 2011 This year we were living in Omaha, Nebraska. Dad was having an awesome time staying home with Jake. Mom was working in the Air Force teaching residents how to deliver babies. This year, we enjoyed celebrating Jake's 1st birthday! We loved watching Jake grow into a fun loving toddler and were beyond thrilled when we found out Mom was pregnant with Baby Drew. We took several fun trips to California, Chicago, Iowa's water park hotel, and more. Once again, this was a year full of blessings and the miracle of another healthy baby!
Jacob is 11 months old! He is getting ready to walk and keeps us very busy! He loves babbling with us and is so good at his sign language to tell us what he's thinking!
In August, we loaded up the car and headed to Chicago for the Rock N Roll Half Marathon! We ran into a snowstorm on the way and had to make an unexpected stop overnight. We stayed at a super fun water park hotel. Jake wasn’t too sure about the cold water though! The next day we headed to the Thomas house. We ran the marathon with Todd. It was a great experience and we enjoyed spending time with family! Jake and Aubrey had a great time together, too.
Later that month we took a whirlwind tour to the West Coast for a conference for Mom. We stopped for a few days in Arizona and saw lots of Dad’s family. Jake got to see Grammy and Grandpa Fletcher and some of his cousins. We then went to California and saw Nana and Bob. We had a great time taking Jake to Santa Barbara to see Christiane and Chris, the ocean, and the beautiful campus of UCSB where Mom and Dad met. Jake ate his first In&Out Burger, too. It was an amazing trip!
Jake sees Santa Barbara, where Mommy and Daddy fell in...
JAKE'S 1ST BIRTHDAY! WE HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME AT THE OMAHA CHILDREN'S MUSEUM WITH A PIRATE PARTY! LOTS OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS JOINED US TO CELEBRATE JAKE'S SPECIAL DAY! DADDY MADE THE BEST PIRATE CAKE EVER!!

Trick or Treat! Jake had a great time eating candy. He was a sticky mess by the time the night was done!
Fun family moments from October and November | Precious Ordinary Moments
In November, we found out we were pregnant! We were beyond thrilled. The pregnancy got off to a rough start, it was a scary time. We tried so hard to depend and trust in God. When Mommy first took the test, she went downstairs and told Daddy that there were faint lines and maybe we were pregnant. He was so excited but nervous too. That’s when we nicknamed this baby “maybe baby”. Here are some of Mommy’s journal entries during the first couple months. As you can see, it was a rollercoaster of emotions. We are still pinching ourselves that we have you, Drew. We loved you before you were knit together in Mommy’s womb. The first time we saw you on the ultrasound, you were not even as big as a grain of rice. You, my sweet Drew, are a miracle of God!
Grammy visited as an early Christmas present. Jake loved Grammy and Papa’s talking book present! Boy, did he play that thing 10 times a day for months! Christmas morning was just the 3 of us this year. We had a yummy breakfast and enjoyed opening presents. Jake got a toy laptop computer and play tunnel. Daddy got an acoustic guitar. Mommy was taken by notes on a treasure trail around the house that led to a Panini press with a fridge full of sandwich fixin’s! We spent the afternoon playing in the snow on our White Christmas!
 Christmas 2010
In January, we had a great time when Aunt Baca came for a visit! We played in the snow and went to the Children's Museum. Jake loves his "bopka" | Aunt Baca comes for a visit!
 Jake Loves To Eat!
Fun family moments from February and March | Precious Ordinary Moments
April Fun! We took a trip to Palm Springs and saw lots of friends and family. Later that month, Dad ran another race! Jake and Mommy (and baby drew) cheered him on!
For Easter, we decided to meet up with lots of family for some fun at a waterpark hotel. The Thomas family, Butler family and all the cousins met us at the hotel. Then came a huge surprise for Mommy! Grammy and Papa came too!! Mommy was so excited. Little did she know that everyone had planned a surprise baby shower for her the next morning! We had such a great time! What a memorable Easter!
 Jake is 20 months old!
June 2011 Jake moved into his brand new Big Boy room! He lovd his big boy jammies which he called "P-P Jeepers" He was ready with his "taggie-taggie" and "bear-bear" turtle and paci, he made it through the night like a champ!

Fun family moments from June and July
Monday July 18th, 9:27 PM 37w5d: I'm getting so excited to meet you Drew! Just took a nice bath and watched you wiggle around in my belly. Prayed for you and I a lot tonight. You are sideways in my tummy right now, which is not a good way to be. I'm praying for God to guide you into the right position soon. Mostly I'm just praying that God teaches mommy to trust Him and get you out safe and sound. I love you so much. Can't wait to see what you look like and smother you with lots of kisses!!
We have so many plans for you. Trips to the zoo, play dates with your friends, birthday parties, creating family memories, backyard fun, wrestling with your big brother, introducing you to Jesus, baking your favorite cookies, exploring life's wonders and watching you grow into a wonderful young man. I can't wait to show you our world. We will meet you soon... sweet baby drew
On Friday July 22nd, Dr. Cote was able to successfully turn you around into the right position. We were so nervous that you would turn again. Mom even wore a big belt to try and hold you in place and did funny yoga positions and even laid upside down on an ironing board! We agonized over the decision to induce you early and decided to schedule that for the following Wednesday, but little did we know that God had a different birthday planned for you. On Sunday, Mommy began having contractions. She told Grammy that she better come quick and Grammy hopped on the next flight to Omaha! On Monday night we had an interesting turkey meatloaf dinner and went to bed. Around 3am on Tuesday, Mommy woke up with contractions and at 5:30am the bag of water around you broke. It was time! We loaded up the car, dropped Jake off at Miss Amanda’ s house and headed to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. We were so excited! Mommy was 3cm dilated when we arrived and we got hooked up to the monitors and started the journey to meet you! Labor took about 10 hours, but towards the end Mommy went from 5cm to 10cm very fast. We weren't sure if Dr. Cote would even make it in time. As soon as he got there, you came out in 3 pushes! You peed all over Dr. Cote on the way out which made us laugh! But one look at you and Mommy and Daddy cried with My God, you were just beautiful. We couldn't believe how blessed we were to have you, Drew. | JOY!

“From the fullness of Grace, we have received
one blessing after another” John 1:16
We spent 2 nights in the hospital with you. During the pregnancy they had been looking at a mass in your heart. We were so happy when your echo on your 2nd day of life showed no detectable mass! Praise God! We spent hours looking at all your little features. We loved your little furrowed brow and perfect little nose. Because you had been sideways in Mommy’s tummy, your left little ear was flattened. The next day after you were born, Grammy brought your big brother, Jacob over to meet you. Jake was so excited to see his "bee-bee doo." We were so thrilled with our new little family!
So happy! | FIRST DAYS AT HOME WITH DREW! | We're home! | Blue eyes | Brotherly Love | Our new family! | Mommy's little helper! | Fun with Daddy | Diapers Diapers everywhere
We were thrilled that Grammy and Papa spent so much time with us in the first few weeks. Just before Grammy headed home, Aunt Mimi came for a visit, too. She loved meeting baby Drew. Daddy watched both boys so that Mommy and Grammy and Aunt Mimi could go to a Christian Women’s Conference. Hooray for Daddy! Soon after they left, Aunt Baca came to meet Drew. She was in love and Jake sure was excited to have his “Bopka” back!

August 2010-July 2011 Once again we are reminded as we put this book together how very blessed we are. See you next year! | let the adventure begin!
