Mom, If anyone should ever think that I'm competitive they should look at you for my inspiration. Remember Yahtzee and Rummy when we were both younger? How about the great Farkle games that we still play? You get such joy out of beating me (us) mercilessly that it's a wonder we still love to play every time we get together. How about the horse race up at the property that you still insist I either cheated or that it didn't really happen... The way I remember it; you had Linda's Arabian and I was on the Quarter horse and we were racing through the woods around the trees and the manzanita.
Another great memory I have is once I was all grown and Tom and I had moved to Colorado; you and Nancy and I were getting the last of the presents and stockings ready on the night before Christmas. If I remember correctly, we were probably having some wine with that. But there we were, the three of us; all grown women with families of our own. Nancy was getting the stockings ready for the girls and she had the idea to “rubber-band” the over-abundance to the outside of the stocking. I decided that that was a good idea and decided to do the same, only when all was said and done, she had these really cute stockings for the girls with teddy bears on the outside, while my kids ended up with socks and underwear rubber-banded to the outside of their stockings. I remember laughing so hard we cried at the “unfairness” of Santa and how my kids got the short end of the stick. I loved that Christmas and treasure all the memories that I have. I love you very much and wish you many, many more years of birthdays and memory-making times. Your Daughter forever, Linda | Next thing I know you're down with blood dripping down your face. I still claim victory but I'm sure that you have a different take. I would challenge you again but you would probably sabotage me somehow and I would probably break a hip I have to say that you are the most feared, brutally honest, loyal and most of all loving mother that any son or daughter could ever have. Speaking for myself, my family and my brother and sisters; we love you dearly and with all our hearts. Happy Birthday Ken

Mom, I am so blessed to have you for my favorite mother-in-law. You have always treated me well with kindness, understanding, and compassion. I will be forever grateful for the support and help you and Dad gave Ken and me by being there for Danny and Janelle when we were working. I hope that now that I have seen what a fantastic mother-in-law is, that I am able to become one myself, so my children's spouses will love and adore me the way I love and adore you. Happy Birthday Love, Mary | Nelson-Reigner
Dear Grandma, So many happy memories of family dinners, sleeping on the couch, picking me up from ice skating, swimming, BBQ’s, trick-or-treating and the list goes on and on. Some of the biggest things that I admire in you are that you are so supportive and caring. Nothing matters but us, the people in your life. Remember when you were taking Danny and I to school one morning and we were crossing and intersection when we got into a little fender bender. You were so concerned about us and if we were okay, and we were fine. As my life developed, I found the love of my life. When Doug shared in holidays he was included from the very beginning. I know how important it was to him to share this and you made it all possible because of your supportive and caring nature. Doug and I were blessed to share our lives with a little boy. We received a card labeled “Master Collin”. Yes indeed grandma, we did get a Master Collin. You have made Collin such wonderful artist pieces. One of his favorites is the piggy bank with the Corvette on it. When Doug was diagnosed with Chron’s Disease, you were there for support. You have supplied us with many articles and ideas. As you know this life change was not an easy hurdle, but we knew you were always there. I just want to thank you for impacting my life in this way and that in doing so it has created fullness in mine. Love always, Janelle, Doug and Collin

Come with me as we take a casual trip down Memory Lane | I remember... swimming with water wings in the pool, the maroon sectional couch and the big open fireplace, the bar that was really only ever used as a birdcage stand, sleeping over at your house so you could take me to school, walking up with my eyes swollen shut from poison oak and you taking me to the hospital, eating ottor pops that you kept in the garage freezer, Christmas and thanksgiving at your house with all my cousins, uncles, aunts; playing on the front lawn, pretending there was lava; you saying "see you later alligator"...riding in the blue van up to "the property" on what we called snake rd; riding the banana on lake Don Pedro; family reunions with the front yard loaded with cars and motor homes, sleeping in the upstairs family room with everyone We all love you very much, thanks for being our "rock", solid for as long as I remember Danny

My most fondest memory... I remember going on vacation with mom and dad to Colorado, we visited my grandparents on their farm. My mom and aunt let us ride the horses, I got to ride mine without being led. We had so much fun. Janice | It was really hard for me to pick just one memory of mom and I. Every memory I have of Mom and my life with her is precious and special to me. you are an inspiration to me and I love you very much!
Austin-Hayes | Grandma Helen is the sweetest grandmother anyone could ever ask for. We don't get to see her as often as we like, but there is so much love shared during the times we do! Happy birthday, Grandma Helen! Love, the Austins
 Happy Birthday Grandma Love, Julie
I think that my favorite memory of Gramma was the first time that she met Kyleigh. Kyleigh was about 9 months old and usually wouldn't let anyone "new" hold her, but the first time she met Gramma she went right to her and let Gramma hold her as long as she wanted. I was so amazed by that, it was like she knew who she was and I thought that was so cool.
Happy Birthday from Ohio love, Barbara

Mom, Though life may have given me a few more trials and challenges than I may have liked, I wouldn't give up even one of them. Because the one constant in both my happy times and tough times, is You. You are my rock, my calm, my stability and my peace. And although sometimes you may have had an opinion that | didn't quite line up with what I believed at the time, you were always there to listen and support me. I love you with all of my heart and more. My one wish is to one day become the "MOM" to my children that you have been to me. Happy Birthday, Mom. All my love forever, Nancy
I was trouble, and have been ever since, but...man....I could have been something much more sinister. At least my homework was done! Thank you for all that you have done for me and my new family. Deanna and I appreciate you more than you could ever know! Some day I only hope that you will let me return the favor. Love you Always....Sean | My grandma....what can I say? You were there when Deanna and I needed money for a down payment on a house; not once, but twice! No matter what I have done in my life, you have always been on the sidelines making sure I made it through to the other side. I remember a time in my youth when you took my family in. Truman Street. Swimming pool. I was just coming into my "big boy" years. You were the hardest on me. I look back and I only remember what I could have become if your guidance wasn't forcing me to achieve.
Grandma Helen, Though I am new to this family, your giving touch reaches me. I have Known you for 5 years now and I have seen you are the back bone to this amazing family! I am honored to be a part of your life and what you have made here. The love and strength pulses in everyone, you are the roots. Thank you for sharing! Happy Birthday!!! Love, Deanna
Great Grandma Do you remember when we went to Disneyland? You were holding a yellow Mickey Mouse balloon and you looked like a little kid. We miss those little kid days. We love you very much. You mean the world and the sun to us. Happy Birthday. Meghan and Yvonne
Grandma Though we do not see each each other as much as anyone would like, I am so happy that you have so many children, grand children, and great grandchildren that get to be a part of your life. You are truly an amazing person and I hope you have the best birthday! We love you.. Rylee and Heather
Darling Mormor, Remember that time I was a smart-alec and you rolled your eyes at me? That was great. I'm looking forward to many more eye rolls and I thank you for putting up with me all these years. I love you Pat
Dear Mom: I can hardly believe that you’re celebrating 80 years of life! It makes me ask myself, “Where have all the years gone?” First of all I want to thank you for being there for me throughout the years, “no matter what”. Whether it was good times or bad, I know that I could always count on you to be by my side when I needed you. And looking back I’m realizing that although you may not have been the mother at times that I wanted, you were always just what I needed. My higher power was looking out for me long before I ever realized it. And for that I am eternally grateful, as I know that I was most definitely not always the daughter you wanted, but regardless of that, you showed up anywayThank you. One of the fond memories I have of you is from when I was growing up. I remember Sunday as being “bath night”. I remember that I would also get my hair washed in the sink, although I don’t remember the reason why. Was it because it was too long for me to wash? Anyway, I would stand on the chair by the sink and you would wash my hair. After it was all clean, you would squeeze out the extra water and then tease me about the water running down and “leaking” from my forehead. You would say “you have a leaky forehead” in a sing-song voice and go on and on about it. I remember it would always make me laugh.
43: How many men can say that they enjoy spending time with their Mother-in-law? It’s certainly not the majority of them, but I’m of the lucky minority. Helen welcomed me into her family over a decade ago and we’ve grown ever closer. It’s hard for me to narrow down the good times we’ve had to just a few. Whether it’s playing cards and Farkle, sitting down to a home cooked meal, taking a leisurely hike through the woods, gathering around the Christmas tree, or swapping turns in a wheelchair as we cruise around Disneyland, I always treasure the time she spends with me. I’m so very fortunate I have two women that I call “Mom”. Tom Wright
