Hi | We are Kristen and John. We want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We are a fun loving couple that met on match.com in 2003 and have been married since 2005. Starting a family is something we have been looking forward to since we got married. | After unsuccessfully trying to have biological children, we are excited to start our family through adoption. We hope to eventually have at least 2 children so they can have a big/little brother/sister to grow up with.
We have many things in common and two things we like are sports and traveling. When we travel, we try to incorporate visiting various baseball parks and attending games when we can. So far, we have been to 8 different parks together. We even attended a game during our honeymoon. | Royals opening day is a tradition | We have also been to a NCAA Final Four, the Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500. We are also Royals season ticket holders, Kansas Speedway season ticket holders and even run our own fantasy football league. We look forward to doing these types of things with our children.

Kristen's parents have a condo on Table Rock Lake in Branson, MO and that has been our getaway place. We were married there and visit a few times a year. We love renting a boat, getting out on the lake and swimming, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. We can't wait to take our kids out on the lake. | We love celebrating the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. In fact, our annual Halloween costume party is always the event of the year! Our yard/house is among the most decorated in the neighborhood every October. | Our first fish as a couple!
John | I was raised on a farm in southern Indiana. I grew up playing basketball and baseball, hunting and fishing and working on the farm. During college, I worked at Sea World in Orlando, FL in the summers. After college, I was transferred to Kansas City with my job and have lived here ever since - over 17 years. I am a software quality assurance manager and have been at my current job for over 7 years. I have an M.B.A. and have received certifications for my field. | mmm . . . blue icing | This photo is John approved | Batter up!
I am also a songwriter and musician. Our children will definitely be exposed to music and encouraged to learn to play an instrument. | My other main hobby is woodworking that I learned from my grandfather (Papaw). I sometimes make things for Christmas presents such as key holders or shoe racks. I look forward to passing on the passion for creating things to our children.
Kristen | I am from the Kansas City area and was raised here all my life. I attended KU and earned my BA in English Literature with a minor in Art History. After 5 years out of college, I decided to go back and earn my M.B.A. in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix. I work as an IT Project Manager and have been at my job for 8 years. | Kristen's chocolate Halloween rats | Kristen rocks!
In my free time I enjoy wogging (what I call walking/jogging). I have started participating in 5Ks throughout the KC area. Other activities I enjoy are reading and writing. My favorite authors are Janet Evanovich and James Patterson. I also have been working on writing a children's book for some time and as well as a novel. One of my other passions is hosting events. I love to plan, organize and host parties for family and friends. It helps that I love to cook and enjoy watching people enjoying my food. | Wog this way!
Our Families | My parents, Pam and Roger, still live in the same house I grew up in. I grew up with a little brother, Matthew, who was 6 years younger than me. Matt passed away in a car accident in 2005. He and his wife, Kristy, have 2 sons, Dylan (11) and Drew (8). I also have another little brother, Nathan, who is 19 years younger than me. He and his wife, Kelly, have a baby girl named Alba. | J o h n
I grew up with a total of 21 cousins, many of which I would see just about every weekend at one grandparent's house or the other. Lot's of fishing, climbing trees, playing in the barns, even helping grandma work in the garden. | Our niece, Alba | Rockin' out with Uncle John | John, Matt and Nathan
My parents, Mike and Nancy, have been married for 45 years and live Leawood, KS. My mom is an accountant and owns her own firm. My dad is retired from UMB bank after 35 years. They are looking forward to a new addition to the family. | K r i s t e n | Our niece, Alba
Our Families | I have a brother and a sister-in-law, Ryan and Beverly, who live in Overland Park, KS. They have a son, Bailey, who is now 14 years old. He is looking forward to having a cousin. Some of our best times with the family are on our birthdays. We always get together for dinner to celebrate our birthdays each year.
Our Pets | We have 2 male dogs and 2 female cats that all get along very well. Zevon is our American Foxhound and Thunder is our Beagle. They both have very laid back personalities and love other people and are great with kids. They are quite a pair, one is hardly away from the other. | Lucy and Daisy are our cats. Lucy is the more mellow of the two as Daisy is just over a year old and still has that kitten energy. | Daisy loves the dogs!
Our Home | We live in a 5-bedroom home with an upstairs and a full, finished walk-out basement. The back yard is a good size and is fenced in with plenty of room for a swingset and play area. | We live in an excellent school district and in a neighborhood with children of all ages.
